Thread Details

Amazon has Acer Predator AG3-710-UR54 Gaming Desktop on sale for $863.68 with free shipping (comes with free mouse and keyboard)

I currently owns the GTX970 version of this desktop, it is a decent set up with a nice case (and a very nice headphone holder, some may find it gimmicky, but I love it)

At this price it is a decent deal for people who are looking for a pre-build desktop for gaming. Note that it is still going to be more cost effective to build your own rig (estimated about $100 ~ $150 saving depending on the brands of the components you choose, minus the keyboard and mouse)

Also important to note that the mother board on this pre-build does not support SLI

I just built a similar tower with a 1070 and haswell i7 for the same price. you're better off going custom built 950 is a bad gpu for serious gaming.

Most definitely, I mentioned in the post that it is going to be more cost effective building your own rig. Not just the fact that you can get better components like 1070, you can also choose the best brands for the parts too.

However I know that some people prefer buying a pre-build than building their own. Personally I think this is a decent pre-build price for casual PC gamers. This is not a rig where you can push for serious ultra spec or resource hungry games though.

Why would they put a 950 in this? The rest of the hw is much better. They should have put in a 1060 at least.

Agreed. A 1060 or RX 470/480 would have been much better...

No solid state drive.

Slower to boot. Even a basic one -128GB would hold Windows 10 and not bump up the price.
