How hard is it to get an extended wty with a refurb? I have a lenovo preferred account (got a 4k limit with no hard inquiry) and I was planning on waiting for 6th gen i5 t series or x1 carbon to go on corporate sale again (40% off)

Really want the pro dock that clicks in hence t or e series. Something about that one link dock just doesn't do it for me.

Normally spend $100 every few years on black Friday laptop. Asus x205ta still running strong from black Friday 2014 as well as Compaq mini 110 1100dx from best buy black Friday 2009 for 179....

But these web pages are so overloaded with content it's time to spend on something that will last 5 years plus.

Citi card would add 2 years to warranty but refurbished electronics don't apply.

Yes I know this deal is not that great and has no dock options just looking for feedback.

I'm too lazy to check the web. Anyone know if you can replace the drive? RAM will probably not be replaceable as with most Chromebooks.

If these were MS Windows 10, I'd pull the trigger (for nieces). Thx anyway, OP.

Hmm, maybe I'll reconsider...as linux lappy (for me!) Article singing 11e praises:

I'd suspect the reverse here since the storage is eMMC. It's a Thinkpad chassis so the RAM may be in typical slots instead of soldered. I'll do some digging and post what I find.

According to linux article I linked above, upgradeable to 8 GB.

N2940 is older gen bay trail CPU with terrible graphics performance. Chrome uses a lot of graphics acceleration for drawing.

If you bought another laptop during black Friday 2014, I wouldn't recommend this one. This CPU itself came out in 2014 and it was the lowest end of CPU at the time. This won't last you 5 years.

How does emmc speed compare to a convention 5400 hard drive and an ssd drive?

I almost pulled the trigger on one of these about a month ago until I realized it doesn't have HDMI out, which seems especially important to me with a screen this small. Can't tell for certain if this one has it or not.

what bank issues the Lenovo preferred account? I have good credit and every major cc under the sun but could never get a Lenovo account for some reason.

Comenity capital bank. Just add a 3-4k laptop (otherwise low limit) to ur cart and checkout it should pop up aka shopping cart trick soft pull. But really I regret opening it since you can get thinkpads cheaper elsewhere more frequently. Does combine with cash back portals too.
