And since it's technically a purchase at a grocery store, a good number of cash back rewards credit cards will give you more than basic 1% for purchases

I used my replacement Costco Amex card (Silver AMEX Business card) to purchase 4 $250 Gander Mountain gift cards a Kroger during 4X points. Got 4000 fuel points (saved $140 on fuel) Got a $300 AMEX credit for spending $1000 in one month. $10 cash back (1% for using the card for the gift card purchase) Purchased some "home protection" at Gander for $850 -$300=$550 - $140 in fuel savings = $410 - $10 for using the AMEX card = $400 - $50 for price adjustment when the 938 went on sale = $350 for a Sig P938

A heads up... The 4x points offer is valid for gift cards purchased at http://giftcards.kroger.com but both times I've had to call customer service to get the extra points (was only given 2x).

Everything is so damn expensive at gander mountain and I mean everything. Decent deal on cards, but why there? Smilie

Price was tax and 3 year maintenance program. By the time you order from Buds, charge for going to a FFL holder, shipping, and Buds doesn't have gift cards at Kroger. Cabelas was good for their ammo, which ships to the house, so I do Cabelas gift cards for that, but they are to far away from me and their price was comparable. I think $350 for a P938 is a GREAT price. Where do you think I could of done better? Small gun shops won't price match.

It's on the Ralphs website too.
But it appears to be just 4x points, not 40 cents off per gallon at Shell which they sometimes have instead.

Same here. One Amazon and 1 Logans Roadhouse. And I got a register coupon for $10 off my next purchase.

Thanks for the comment, I need to spend $250 to get points on a miles card. Seems like a good idea, if it works this way.

A microcompact for home protection? Intruders will have to squint just to see it. 938 is made for concealed carry. To each their own, but I would recommend something bigger for home.

Not to mention the 938 sells for $499 (on sale) generally. Seems like a lost of wasted 'savings'.

Typical, a 9 mm isn't good for home protection. Sorry cannons were not on sale. LOL holds 6+1, how many do you need?
