It looks like the activation key is now required to fill out the Kaspersky rebates. So no more pre-submitting the rebates.

Update: They changed it back to not requiring an activation code sometime in the afternoon. Because when I tried to fill it out on 9/12 at approx. 9AM EST the activation code was required for some reason. I bought the regular version, not the download version.

Yep, and they also want the actual CD or first page of the User Manual from a previous Kaspersky product or competitor's product. I guess we can no longer just submit a copy of it. Time to stop buying Kaspersky. It was good run though.

Oh, I see that now. I never fill out rebate info online until I get the software so wasn't aware of that.

Just to be on the safe side I called the rebate center to ask if rebate in my name and I enter activation key would the computer using the key have to be registered in my name but it doesn't.

You need the entire flap with the upc code to submit for the rebate. I dont see where you need the activation code to pre submit the rebate?

But both the rebates require original upc code?

It says it right there when you try to pre-submit the rebate form online that it needs the activation code. You need to open the rebate form, click the link and enter the rebate number...Not just look at the PDF.

I did click on the rebate and enter the rebate number, just didnt fill out the form and try to submit it. Its been awhile since I last made a submission. Wish it was just 1 full rebate instead of having to do the upgrade as well.

Thanks!

Not sure what you're looking at, but no activation code is required to register for the rebate. Nor is the actual CD required, just a scan of the CD as usual. The rebate form is the same it's always been.

They must have changed the rebate forms because when I checked this morning it had the activation code field on both rebates and also said that a copy of the disc or page 1 of the manual was not sufficient. I'm glad that they changed it back.

For some reason yesterday morning the rebate form required the activation key for the regular version (Frys item # 8903463). They changed it back to not requiring it sometime in the afternoon.

It looks like they changed the form back to not requiring the activation code for the regular version (Frys item # 8903463) after you called them.

lol, I don't think I have that much power. I thought perhaps this was something new for 2017 Total Security rebates. Good to know that if it is on the form, that it's for download versions and not the boxed.

I say if it ain't broke, don't be messing with the form and changing things up. Smilie
