All the 8xx series clean the same. The difference is in the batteries, and accessories. The 870/880 have Nicads. The 805/860 have L-ion. The 880 has a remote and lighthouses. None of the others do. The 860 has dual mode virtual wall/zones. The 860 and 805 have just virtual walls.

Unless you NEED the lighthouses, you can't really go wrong with any 8xx series one. Just shop straight on price. If you wait around and watch, you should be able to get one for around $350.

Used ones for $350 w/ taxes if you want to save $100 but no warranty (30-day amazon return policy/warranty).

This is a discontinued model and has been almost $75 cheaper in the past, numerous times. The 860 also has L-ion batteries that last longer. It has also been in the $350 range numerous times recently.

Thanks for the info. I had previously checked ccc and the lowest price was only noted in June 2016 at $449.99 so wasn't quite sure. Although it may be a discontinued product, it doesn't mean it is a bad product.

I believe the 805 is still on sale at Costco for $399 with 5% back using Chase Freedom which is the same as the 860.

Hi, may I ask if you could elaborate a little more on how they are the same? I'm looking to get one of these things but no idea which I should buy. Thanks in advance!

I agree, although this is an excellent price for the 870, the 860 might still be the better choice. The 870 comes with two Virtual Walls, which are different from Virtual Wall Barriers.

The difference between the two are that Barriers have the added functionality of limiting your Roomba to clean one room at a time, which is fairly important if you have a complicated house layout or multiple rooms. The differences between the two accesssories are explained in detail here: http://smartrobotichome.com/irobo...80-review/

Go with the 860, or better yet, wait for a sale on the 960.

You had me until the last line. DO NOT get a 9xx series Roomba. They're a disaster. For some reason iRobot thought they had to make a mapping robot to compete with Neato. The results are now that the 9xx has mediocre cleaning results like Neato and others that use mapping. The 9xx is rated lower than the 8xx series for cleaning performance, and is hella expensive. Avoid at all costs.

I have multiple rooms with hardwood floors (no carpets)...
Is this the model I should be looking at or is there a better one for multiple rooms?

Do you mean the Amazon Warehouse ones? As far as I know they still carry the warranty. Do you have a link that shows they don't? Google turned up nothing.

** Edit ** Nevermind - found the Authorized Re-seller's page on IROBOT: [irobot.com]

I think Amazon Warehouse Deals should count - it's Amazon after all...

As long as they're adjacent, any of the 8xx should work, though you may have to reposition virtual walls to keep it from areas you don't want.
