Interesting. I wonder if you'd could double stack with people needing rides inbetween these locations. Just need a way to get back home I guess.

Nice. I'm travelling from Seattle to Australia one-way in a few weeks. I wonder if any are available.

Why? I have never had a penny taken in my car rental deposits and I have probably rented cars over 100 times in 20 years?

The biggest cost here is fuel, these RVs do maybe 8~10 mpg so Denver to LA is about $355 in gas, minus $100 refund thats $255 out of pocket, plus one way ticket for say family of 4, thats another $800, and you need KOA camp reserved on the way or similar thats another I guess $250.

But still a very FUN experience. I love RV trips, I met my wife through one. As long as people are really close and have fun together and as long as you find places to par. Cant have a lazy person, it will piss everyone else off. Its all about cooking and cleaning together on the side of the RV at a camp site, if you plan on eating at restaurants then its no fun.

FYI: Motor homes are welcomed and allowed to park overnight in Walmart Parking lots. One of the nicer services Walmart offers to the RV public. Wink

Thanks for the info, I didnt know that! I think State Parks are also cheap to stay at along LA-SF route and have gorgeous beaches, but always booked ahead of time and always full.

Walmart is nice if you stay at a hotel nearby which defeats the purpose of vacationing in an RV in my book. Walmart parking lot is missing a few critical items that KOA for example offers:
Tap water
Gate/Security/Fence
Bathrooms/Showers
Power plug in.
Sewer plug-in (sometimes)

And non essentials:
Laundry,
Cable TV
Game room/arcade/ping pong/etc
Lake/Pond/Greenery

A lot of Walmarts stopped allowing RVs so you may want to check with the store. You should also see signs in the parking lot if not allowed.
