NOTE: This product gets an F on FakeSpot [fakespot.com] and the seller gets a D. Be aware!

Seriously, what water are you filtering? How BAD is your source? It's water and we survived millenniums before filtering (exception for Detroit)

^
Yes, the water coming out of your tap is potable but filtered water simply tastes better. The air is safe to breath after someone takes a dump in the public restroom but I believe you wouldn't criticize the installation of an exhaust fan...

not worth it. check the difference between the oem and generic. i went to generic 1.5 - 2 years ago. when i went to order more, i researched, for the samsung, oem passes nsf ansi 42 and 53. most generics only pass ansi 42, which is for aesthetic effects, versus ansi 53 for health effects. heck, most generics don't even pay for nsf testing certification. they state something about private testing up to ansi 42 standards.

as per on samsung filter box...
ansi 42: to reduce specific aesthetic or non-health related contaminants (chlorine, taste and odor, and particulates)

ansi 53: to reduce specific health-related contaminants, such as cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, volatile organic chemicals (voc), mtbe

thought i'd share.

slickdeals would be helpful by doing deals for original equipment filters, not this generic stuff.
Where does your tap water come from, North Korea? This thread is ridiculous, fear sells.

Good price, good product. Thanks op.
One which Home Depot sell is certified for both NSF 42 and 53. It cost 49 for 2. But worth the money spend for the one year water supply

the scare in what the non-OEM guys might do to cut corners on these things worries me enough to not warrant saving $30 on water I am going to drink for 6 months

FYI, The 2 pack for LG was also discounted to $17.50ish. So for $8.75 per, I pulled the trigger. Last non-oem I got worked fine but is slow after 6 months. That one cost $18, so this is great. Thanks!

The 3 pack for Samsung seems cheaper than buying 3 individuals

agree.. I got an oem filter with subscribe and save with additional 15% off for having 5 items on S&S... my biggest fear was hearing people say the generic ones had too much or too little pressure and was causing the ice maker to stop working.. not worth it for the sake of 25-35 bucks for something you only need to buy twice a year

it is probably cheap because of the corners they cut in making the damn thing, on the other hand manufacturers like to blow up prices on products with their name on it, to give the consumers some fake feeling that it is a good product when in reality it came from a cheap manufacturer in the first place. It happens all the time, we see it with OEM motor oil, transmission fluids, etc... over priced crap when sometimes the autozone brand suffices.

I recently bought a cheap knock off for my LG. The water simply tasted better/cleaner with the OEM.
