Why do people benchmark their phones? I'd imagine they'll all be almost identical as the other millions of iDevices with the same configuration.

Is this legit? Hardly any reviews, seems fishy even free.

It basically runs benchmark tests on your iPhone and other iDevices you download it on. This app was normally paid for and its only free until tomorrow.

There's hardly any reviews because they've recently added this to the AppStore as a "new" update when in fact it's just an updated version of their Geekbench 3 app which is normally paid for. Nothing wrong with this app at all, it just runs benchmark tests to let you know how fast or slow your phone is and gives you other hardware info like amount of RAM and what GHz your phones processor is clocked at. Hope that eases any concern!

LOL, I was thinking the same thing, esp for iPhones. It's not like you can really mod it without jailbreaking.

Maybe it's for draining your battery fast?

Maybe they compute hashes for bitcoin or something ?

Thanks! I'll make sure to use this on my new iPhone 7 right before I drop it, shoot it with a handgun, smash it with a hammer, and then finish it off in a blender for a youtube video. =)

Wait so it will be free until the END of tomorrow right?

Also, Geekbench has also been free on Android. How come it's a paid app on iOS?

yeah seriously, why would anyone want/need this? benchmarking an iOS thingy? they're not exactly overclockable or upgradable or configurable or modifiable or speedupable or anything. I don't get it.

Basic economics my friend. There's ample supply on android but no demand. Therefore prices drop to FREE. On iOS people still pay for this app so why not make a buck or 2 off of it. Same shit that basically goes for anything on slickdeals.
