What's it for?

I'm sure not to transfer to Cricket, right? I've seen a few with free or cheap price just don't know why buying them.

I can tell you why I bought it. Have decent phone on MetroPCS and wanted to switch to a network that actually works outside of urban area without taking a monthly price hit.

If you are not going to BYOD just get a phone from cricket with sim included I guess...
