Misto Brushed Aluminum Olive Oil Sprayer []

Misto is the #1 Selling Oil Mister Brand in the U.S (Source: The NPD Group, Inc./Retail Tracking Service. 52 weeks ending April 2016)
Reusable oil spray and mister bottle gives you the convenience and health benefits of an aerosol sprayer in a more economical and environmental form
Fill MISTO with your favorite oils, vinegars, lemon and lime juice, sherry, or marsala wine. Great for salads, breads, or cooking
Easy-to-use pump style cap features a 2-step operation: simply pump the container, then and press the valve on the pressurized sprayer for an even mist.
Environmentally friendly: The non-aerosol sprayer doesn't use chemical propellants, and it's refillable, so no more throwing cans away to end up in landfills. MISTO is BPA-free. Threading the cap on incorrectly allows air to escape and in turn does not allow the bottle to build up pressure to spray.

You have to keep the pump cylinder lubed with olive oil and then you have to periodically clean otherwise it wont be lubed and apply pressure(also when you grease all its parts with oilve oil you want to keep it in the fridge but thats a no go cause then the oil solidifies(and wont flow and spray; the canister does hold the pressure well tho) and if its sitting out warm then the oil lubed parts are getting rancid(and when u pump again its going to get in the reservoir in the canister) and if you use something else to lube it other than olive oil than thats going to get in the olive oil reservoir(maybe mineral oil is the best choice but your going to get some of it in your olive oil)). Really olive oil is just liquid fat and looks that way in the blood stream it is not some kind of fat destroying gold liquid that makes you healthy cause your eating salad. These seem nice but its not really enough spray for cooking anyway its just best to get an oil cruet and pour it that way so you can get some grease in the pan and start cooking. Seems like a good idea but I just have no use for it and trying to save money on olive oil its probably just better to spend the money and buy more I remember 10 years ago pompiean "robust" used to just be one kind of extra virgin was like 3 bucks for 32oz then it went up to 15 bucks but now its always on 2 for 1 deals so its back down to 7.50 and I can deal with that 15 for 64oz. I like the chefs planet laboratory Erlenmeyer flask like cruet but there are a ton of them especially from china with double blown vinegar and oil in one......

Yeah they should rename it 50 dollar hurdle dangling a carrot infront of you to buy prime shipping....

yes - messy and high maintenance - but what is an alternative for misting balsamic vinegar on your salad (I gave up on oils!) ?! Wink

you mean you gave up using oils in this misto thing, or you gave up oils all together?

and curious, why the need to mist vinegar?

one thing I do now, is whisk my olive oil and lemon juice (or you can use vinegar) and put the other ingredients in my big metal bowl. Then I just throw my lettuce and other veggies, and just mix them all up like they do at olive garden. Throw my grilled chicken in there, and eat it all in that bowl while watching the American Pickers I mean, while watching UFC fights.
