Anyone have thoughts on whether this is worth it? I'm on the fence.

same here. I just got a credit limit increase to buy a light gaming laptop and was wondering if this would fit the bill? or if there was anything a lot better for a couple hundred more?

I bought and returned an HP envy 2-1 with similar specs because the trackpad was the most infuriating driver I've ever encountered. Anybody know if this HP line uses the same trackpad?

this would not be good for any kind of gaming except for very casual games.

I just did a quick search on slickdeals for other active deals, and saw this: http://slickdeals.net/f/9094851-hp-pavilion-gaming-17-ips-gtx-960m-2gb-gddr5-win10-i5-6300hq-8gb-ddr4-1tb-hdd-687-99-free-s-h?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

it's a 17" screen, which may not be what you're looking for. But it has a dedicated GPU that will be miles better for 3D graphics than the integrated GPU in this post. And it's less than $100 more.
