It's good if you only have one or two streams at the same time.. Mines lag when is more than two. I updated the ram to 16gb. I would recommend to build your own plex server with i7.. You can stream more than 5 1080p at the same time without lag.. That's my plans for BF

One stream is fine for 1080p but multiple is lagging. I think thats not much as discount for that model. I wonder if there will be drop on 453a model

Im looking for a good deal on a NAS to run a home ip camera setup for my parents, something small to stash hidden away in the basement or attic, somewhere it won't be stolen if there was a break in.

This looks good but it has many more features than i would need, any suggestions?

This is a NAS box and while a nice gesture, it's nothing you should buy without understanding more about it and more about the recipient's knowledge and needs.

Not really, just wait for something better. Same upgrade to 16g ram and CPU is not a big upgrade. I wouldn't , wait for 4k

Can you list what you plan to get?

I currently have 24 2 TB hard drives that I am trying to figure out how I can build in all in one server for plex, youtube, web browsing, that is hooked up to my projector home theater system.

I used to have a qnap and I used its builtin bit torrent module for downloading. The speed was slow like hell. I would never try a qnap product no matter how good the review is.
