Picked one of these up today at Lowes on clearance for $7.50. The tag said originally $40. Looks like they are $30 on Amazon. It feels really solid and is crazy bright. My Lowes zip is 46158.

Rang up for $6. Display said $20. I've never seen a flashlight so bright before and I have some decent 18650 lights.

I have one. It's brighter than a high-beam.

These were a good buy. Total came out to 5.35 ea. after coupon. All gone in W. Marietta, GA; store manager said they spent an hour looking for them. Interesting that the next nearest Lowes has it for $30.

The size: like a maglight on steroids.
This has a long plastic removable tube to hold all 9 AAAs in a 9v array. 3 C or D batteries should be able to fit but IDK if the voltage difference will matter. Four modes: full beam, low beam, and slow flashing full beam, and OFF. Pressing the button will cycle through them. Holding down the button will cycle between the last mode and OFF.

I too own many 18650 (li-ion) flashlights and this is by far brighter than many of those. The beam is composed of three hi intensity LEDs with a fixed silver reflector to focus each individual beam to a central point. So you get one super bright central point with three off-center ovals forming a larger less bright area. At the end of the flashlight it has a flat plastic disk held down by the screwed on metal tip and a rubber washer. The reflector is probably plastic and the only thing that focuses the beam; you cannot alter the beam.

For those who have never owned a flashlight this bright. It is uncomfortably bright indoors and confined spaces (use low beam). If you are directly lighting anything within 20 feet of you, it will white wash your vision and render illuminating something directly useless; use low beam. If you are scanning a field or illuminating your path for the next 100+ feet, this thing rocks. Like mag-lights, these double as batons.
