I think if you are considering something like this, might as well spent another $20 more to get a least a N3150 (Like a Zotac N3150 (ZBOX-CI323NANO-U). I have two of these little boxes and really love'em

A better deal might be the MSI Cubi with N3160 if you can deal with the rebate.

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-802-11...B01F852L62
for $130 after $20 rebate.

CPU multicore PassMark N3050 (904) N3150 (1472) N3160(1706)

Or better yet, add $10 (no rebate use EMCENFJ76 code) and get theIntel Cube with an N3700 processor [newegg.com] - passmark 1897 for $140 shipped.

I have built a bunch of these, different brands, the Intels are the best built.

This is definitely a better "upsize" deal than the MSI rebate offer above.

I've been wanting to test a NUC for some time, but the sometimes terrible reviews (failures and many exchanges) are off-putting. Have you had any major issues?

What would be the use for the boxes? Kodi?

Anyone know if these will do pass through DTS-HD and True-HD?

Answered my own question - it looks like this is a NO, unless doing the OpenELEC or other Linux variant.

Apparently, Amazon priced matched an existing Newegg deal. Depending on your tax/gift card situation, you may be better off shopping at one or the other retailer.

Intel NUC NUC5CPYH (Celeron N3050, HDMI, VGA, USB 3.0, Wireless-AC) $102.39 FS @ Amazon
