Bought one last time and received one that didn't work and MEH doesn't accept returns. Advised to contact Foodsaver directly what a pain.

I have this model. If you use it, you will save $22 in wasted food in the first month easily. It's especially great if you have a Costco membership with one or two people because it makes it easier to buy in bulk and not waste the food. You can get cheap third party bags/rolls on Amazon.

I think this is one of those items that is great if you use it. I'm sure there are plenty of people with these collecting dust. I use mine every week and paid significantly more than this.

doesnt look like it with this model. i have one similar to this-vaccuums and seals by itself and it tends to suck out any juices that are in the bag. there are some models where you can control the functions that may work better if thats what youre looking for

How is the bag waste with this model? I was looking at the FM2100 because of the claims of lower bag waste.

I just buy the cheapest bags on Amazon [amazon.com]. You cut it off the roll, seal it on one end, put the food in, flip it around, and seal it again. I don't notice a large amount of bag waste. This is the simplest model though and the FM2100 does seem to have more bells and whistles.

Every time I try to get stingy with bags, I get bad seals. That's like stepping over $1 to pick up a penny.

I'll be doing sous vide, so long-term seals for extended freezer storage isn't that big of an issue, but bag waste adds up when you're prepping half a dozen portions all the time.

But a bag full of water is an issue. Wink
