I want an old PS4, but I'm waiting until it goes further down in price. There's only one game I want to play and it won't be out until 2017, so I'm not too concerned with getting an improved version if I can get the older one for cheaper.

I'm not saying that this is a deal, but there are reasons someone might want the older model.

Sony removed the optical because most tvs have optical out.. and your going in hdmi. Make sense? Of course it does. Plus the slim may have the same specs but the the cooler running cpu/gpu you are less likely to have over heating issue. Soo in every way the slim is better with the new Ps4 controller.

Sorry they have the same system specs as it comes to actual gameplay related stuff. Yes it doesnt have the optical output on the slim.

Yeah, for $20 more I'd rather get the UC4 over the COD bundle. Hope these older "Fat" PS4 bundles come down below $250.

Do what I did and look for 1 that shuts off after a few minutes (Amazon or locally or something...make sure it includes the hard drive). I got 1 for $100 and fixed it with $1 worth of washers(YouTube 'washer fix'). Now, I'll be eyeing that Uncharted controller to see if it goes on sale on BF($35 or less, ftw!).

That is true about optical ports on TVs. However, if someone has an older surround sound receiver/system it may only have optical inputs for digital sound, not HDMI. Not arguing progress, but it's likely a cost savings measure that is not passed onto the consumer.
