not bad, but the sapphire nitro 470 on jet is within $5 of this with TRIPLE15, and the same price without returns. the problem with xfx 470s is that there is no vram cooling unlike sapphire nitros. i have one of these and i checked, theres only fans blowing on the vram chips. it does use 8 0.5gb chips so the heat isnt as concentrated, but its still an unnessecary risk.

Did something similar with the MSI RX 470 from jet using the triple15 coupon for $175.91 (went with the free return). Turned out seller was Newegg through Jet.

how does this compare to the R9-380X? $100 cheaper open box one.

Agreed, the 480rx 4gb as we all know supposed to retail 199. This has a better cooler but also weaker. Not sure but it probably can't do gen 1 VR. If you are only playing casual and older games it would be good, because it should receive great driver support being new.

Where are you finding a 380x for $80, even at open box prices? That's an insane deal. The 470 is about 15-20% faster, uses considerably less power, runs cooler, and will have longer driver support. The 470 is better in every way, but not $100 better.

It's about 35-40% faster - a moderate, but not huge upgrade.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. My 7950 is fine, but looking to upgrade here soon.

The 480 is 10-15% faster. This is probably a better value, but you can buy the 480 if you want more performance for more money.
