Hey all, didn't see this posted yet, so I figured I would go ahead and put it up. Been watching it for awhile and it finally went down about 25% to 16.70, enough to convince me to buy!

They're not as nice (or as expensive) as the American Kershaw knives.

I own both...

the blade is probably the same quality, but this knife has a plastic handle and is much thicker.

one strange complaint about the cryo is that it's much more difficult to close one-handed than any other kershaw speedsafe knife I've ever owned (have owned about ten over the years).

both are good knives, and I'd recommend either for the price.

Cryo is widely regarded as one of the better knives at this price point. I've never heard the difficult to close complaint before, and having owned about 10 Kershaws including the Cryo and the larger Cryo II you won't have any problems closing the knives one handed. Just used the smaller Cryo last week while I was rigging on a ladder, and deployment/use/closure were all one handed without much thought.

My biggest complaint about the Brawler would be the silly tanto blade, which strays far into the realm of tacticool with very few practical uses. If you really need to pierce body armor, get a fixed blade and not a folder. If you need a knife for anything else, get a regular blade shape that allows you an uninterrupted blade surface that's easier to use and sharpen.

Either way you go, solid prices on solid knives.

Thanks! I'm just looking for a blade and to keep in the car in case of an emergency. like car accident and I need to cut the seatbelt.

Might want to look at something like the Kershaw Funxion with a glass breaker and seatbelt cutter as well. I think you can find them on Amazon for 20-25, I've caught them on Meh or other deal sites for even lower.

Any knife that's kept sharp should have no trouble cutting seatbelt, but it's nice to have a dedicated tool for emergencies in every car.

Agree completely about the unnecessary tacticool-ness of the tanto-style blade... that said, I have the same complaint as the earlier poster, about the Cryo being difficult to close one-handed. Didn't have that problem with my first one (lost last month), but I bought a replacement from last week's SD. I'm not sure what's wrong/different with this one. :|
