Walked in to to Best Buy expecting to pay 159.99 for the Phillips wake up light HF3520. It comes up online as $159.99 but when we asked where to find it in the store at the kiosk it show $95.99 and on clearance.

This was in Porter Ranch, CA

LOOKS LIKE AMAZON DROPPED THE PRICE TO ALMOST MATCH $99 Thanks KIMc for catching that!

a similar model in "off-white" is 89.99 even online - do you know the model differences? I am interested in the idea and had a cheap one that did not last, but it was a very good way to wake up. Are these worth the extra money?

Wow, that's expensive for an alarm clock with a light bulb.

Man, these are exorbitantly expensive. I'd love to find one at a thrift store, hah.

I have this same model I bought 2 years ago. I get up before 5am, so it's dark out. This helps trick my body into thinking the sun is rising which helps me wake up a little better. Not sure if it's worth the price, but it helps. This version changes color, but they have a cheaper one color version for around 50 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F0W1RIW

My wife and I are both shift workers and we have a weird work schedule. This thing has changed our lives. I don't feel jolted awake anymore; her coworkers have also purchased them and love them.

I just checked this morning and it was $130 i believe or something like that. I went to take a shower and now the price has dropped. all within an hour.

I know it probably isnt as bright, but you can do the same thing philips hue go light. I already have a few other hue bulbs so it was cool that it integrates with the system and you have the option to carry it around. I just looked up the specs and the hue go is actually the same lux. This should be on your comparison list if you already own the hue hub.

Set a timer [amazon.com] a few minutes before wake up time on a 25 watt equivalent CFL light [amazon.com], and one for a 40 watt equivalent CFL light [amazon.com]. That would be cheap (albeit cluttered with having 2 separate lamps). The CFL's take a few min to get to their max brightness anyway. Of course you could experiment and tailor the wattages to your preferences.
You could use LED bulbs, but won't get the same gradual brightening effect.
Wink

PS: I got a chuckle out of the Frequently bought together with this wake-up bulb too. Not sunglasses, but looked like them at first glance.

Philips HF3520 vs HF3500?

Is there really a big difference?

Do you think the more expensive version is worth it?
