Insignia is fine. Just a middle grade store brand that's usually a rebrand of some other company's product. I have 2 insignia TVs and a receiver. All work well for the price and easily meet my expectations.

I bought one to replace out 6 year old vizio 32inch LCD.

When my 3 year old starts making his own money he can buy a different TV to watch his Daniel Tiger Shows on.
Ok, I timed it. Took 48 seconds from when I powered on the tv and selected Netflix before I could browse around. May not be a big deal for those patient people out there.

Would this be a decent upgrade from a 32" 720p bedroom tv? What about playing a PS4 on this?

Almost there for me. Does have audio out. However, no ethernet and no audio jack on the remote (as far as I can tell) , which I've come to love on my roku 3. Pass.

I would not do it. These TVs have limited calibration options. And they're slow to start up being tied to their Roku box.

I have 3 Insignia tvs - a 55" in my family room, a 40" in the bedroom, and a 28" in the kids play room. The larger two are perfect for price/performance.... I think I paid $429 for the 55" and I got the 40" for 179 a month ago. They are more than good enough with fairly accurate and pleasing color reproduction and so far reliable service.

The 55" came with Roku stick which is dreadfully slow... hope the built in is better. This would be a solid buy, though if roku lags the non-smart plus chrome cast could be less frustrating in the long run.

Negative. Need 120Hz for gaming at least. Would see lag
