Cherry keys have exclusive contracts for manufacturers. That is why the other Logitechs mechanical keyboards have their own mechanical keys.

Thats what I was thinking. How did Logitech get Cherry keys for this keyboard and have their own propriety mechanical keys on other keyboards.

Facepalm

they just bought the keys and used them. cherry keys aren't that special. anybody can buy them.

Logitech have an exclusive contract for the Romer-G keys.
Corsair have an exclusive contract for the silent cherry reds.

but the normal cherry mx browns, blues, reds, blacks, .etc are nothing special.

Logitech actually made Romer-G switches when they lost the contract on Cherry switches. Corsair does not have the exclusive contract for Cherry reds since Duckys and a few other mechanical keyboard manufacturers have them.

So how come they still have Cherry reds when they dont have a contract with Cherry to supply them with keys.

silent cherry reds

romer-g switches were designed for better led lighting. hence the odd stem design. they're also probably cheaper since they're made by omron.
