$650 ish is a slick deal that people get excited about. I think it's $700 on Dell.com right now. $700 is the it's not really on sale, sale price. It is technically on sale at $700 but is rarely more than that on Dell cause they are always having some bs sale.

I wonder if prices will start to drop on this with the U3417W releasing soon.

I still can't decide if I want a curved ultrawide monitor or a flat one. I'm primarily looking for multi-window room and work a lot in Excel. Anyone have a recommendation on going curved or avoiding it? I've been through a lot of forums and I'm inferring that curved is more immersive for gaming, but flat may be better for spreadsheet-type work. Anyone own one or the other and care to comment? And are some of these ultrawide monitors more curved than others?

I'm in the market for an ultrawide monitor as well. I'm looking for a 34" curved as well, but I was specifically warned that if I get a curved screen, i should get the latest Pascal gpu because it has a built in function that calculates the distortion with minimal power. Anything older than pascal gpus will spend a lot more power doing the calculations.

I think I'm leaning towards an LG flat solution. I do a boatload of work in excel and think the curves might annoy me.
