I think I bought the current version just last year as a Christmas present when Amazon had it on sale for a third this sale price? The recipient loved it.

My problem with these in this day and age is the content is too dynamic to make this kind of investment. I'll wait and see if I can get a deal later on it.

This is the first update to the Encyclopedia since 1999. This is the 4th edition, which includes Voyager season 4- on.

we all know how amazon and "list prices" can be, so I checked Barnes and Noble [barnesandnoble.com] and it does have an official list price of $150

If you're looking for a digital version of this - and in some respects, more complete than this - consider visiting Memory Alpha [wikia.com]. It may be fan-made, but boy is it complete.

Good source of info. TU on the deal, but I will not get it since it includes the Kelvin timeline. I wish they had a book that stopped with ENT.

Memory Alpha is certainly a fantastic resource. I agree!

If the encyclopedia ignored it I think you would alienate many of the new fans brought in by the Abrams movies. You could ignore the Kelvin material, and be satisfied with a comprehensive guide to all of the series you do love...

All of the johnny-come-lately's - bought this book years ago when first released, was wildly disappointed, won't be wasting the money on an updated edition.

The Abrams abominations are not Star Trek. Roddenberry would have died to see his beloved universe so perverted.
