Best site to check cell phone IMEI?

joogle 6,680 359 September 21, 2016 at 08:14 AM
I have a guy on Offerup willing to trade my item for his iPhone 6s Plus.

The trades seems too good to be true - but he is providing the IMEI # and Serial number plus original box.

The phone is Verizon from what he told me and my network is T-moblie. As Verizon phones are unlocked I know it will work on T-mobile.

My question is what site do I use to verify IMEI and other lists across the board?

I tried Swappa and it said this:

Blacklisted Not Indicated
This device does not appear to be globally blacklisted.

Activation Status Assumed Clear

I think verizon has a site where you can check if it can be activated on verizon.
also check ringplus. that'll let you know if sprint has any problems with it.
I've had friendly tmobile reps in store check some phones for me and see if their system indicates if there are any problems with it or if it's on some payment plan.

I don't know what offerup is, but is this an in person trade? it could still be apple activation locked.

used smartphones are risky. just have to see if the risk is worth it.

thanks, Offerup is like craigslist. I'll check ringplus and give Verizon a call to verify if there is anything wrong with the phone.

The T-mobile site shows nothing on the phone which based on my google search is normal if phone was never activated on T-mobile.

Very reputable website for buying and selling. They happen to have the ESN check tool. Before them I was using iPhoneOx.

On apple devices you need to also check: https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/ and check it again in person if this is an in person exchange.

Check with the original carrier. They can tell you blacklist and finance status
