I think I will do it, I am glad I decided to come onto this site.
Seems like a very good deal to me.
he is constantly fixing things around the house and I know he would be very pleased , and glad if I got a decent bargain.

this saw was just 322 less than a month ago. I hear some pretty good things but I am still waiting for a dewalt 745 or 748 to go on sale. nice price on this tho

Wow, comes with the $75 stand, the Diablo blade version, and 2 extra blades? Great price and deal for this saw

This one wasn't even on my radar but looks like a nice step up from DIY-grade jobsite saws. Recommend putting the price and "with folding stand" in the title, OP.

price seems right when you factor in the stand and blades. I was keeping my eye out for a Bosch or Dewalt, not sure how this stacks up

Anyone can compare this saw to the Ridgid R4513 at Home Depot for $399?

Different weight classes. That Ridgid saw has a steel table. It's 95 pounds with the stand I'm guessing, but can use a magnetic featherboard, indicator base, etc.

I have the Skilsaw and it's an aluminum table at 48 pounds (plus stand which is 14 pounds). It's a bit annoying that I can't use my magnetic indicator base on it. The throat plate is 3/8" and much improved over the Bosch which was 1/16" and impossible to make a plywood zero clearance insert - so you had to buy their expensive steel plates that I would never trust with an expensive blade or dado. It's super compact and portable. All the accessories store within the frame. The extra blade height is a big plus for me for squaring and thinning out 2x4 and 4x4 easily. I've found this to be it's best feature above the other small saws. It's like having a mini planer. The fence is solid, but does take some tapping to get perfectly square. It's not a Dewalt fence. You'll need to make a sled for perfect 90 degree cuts. So they're fairly different saw table depending on what you're looking for.

The ridgid R4513 does not have a cast iron top. No portable saw on wheels comes with a iron top that I know of. I wish.
