Can any of these Sim cards be activated without funding them? Trying to get ready in case cricket runs some promotion in November

The kit I received a few weeks ago contains:

2 Verizon CDMA SIMS (one standard-micro dual, and one nano), and a network pass-card (for activating CDMA phone)

2 AT&T GSM SIMS (one standard-micro dual, and one nano).

Package says to share unused SIMS with family/friends so each SIM can be activated for a new line.

Would someone benefit from this if traveling Europe? Do they support anything international?

Thanks OP. Can't go wrong with $1.07. Has been planning to get a TracFone. Perfect timing.

I was hoping that Straight Talk would be offering something similar. I don't see anything on Amazon. I'll advise if I find any good deals on their website!

This is what I'm wondering too. If not I might have to start opening up freedom pop lines. Then port after the fact and just pay for the port in.

I want a solid upgrade from my current Tracfone.

What combination of current deals would be best for me? Say up to $100, $100-$300 and greater than $300.

Any combination of just phone or phone plus service suggestions would do. I'm not a fan of mail in rebates. I know one of you is in the middle of this and can help. Thanks.

Current phone:
Tracfone service provider
LG L41C current phone
CDMA is best for my location
5330 Minutes
2156.49 MBs
10427 SMS's
12/09/2027 Service End Date

IIRC, I had read in some forum that Tracfon used to let you activated the SIM and added small of credit (like 10 min). Now, not anymore. Like I said, I am not sure so don't quote me on it.

Just want to chime in about Tracfone. The service is good and cheap as long as you never have to deal with their customer service people. They are the worst. I've been with them for around 4+ years. Total cost is great. The three or four times that I've needed critical service from them, they have completely failed, even when it is clearly their fault. I have a 3X phone with them now with lots of minutes/texts/data rolled over, and 6 months to go. I'm looking for an alternative, and really hoping I can find something slightly more expensive that does as good a job on the calls, and better on service.

Anyone got any ideas which way to go as a former Tracfone user?

Thanks,

HG

Depending on which major carrier (and its prepaid brands) gives you better coverage where you live, the best promos right now are:
Cricket: (ATT) $30 Unlimited Talk/Text, 1gb 4g lte, unlimited 2g (with choice of free phone)
MetroPCS (Tmobile) $30 Unlimited talk/text, 1gb 4g lte, unlimited 2g (free phone only if switching from sprint)
Boost: (Sprint) $30 Unlimited Unlimited talk/text, 1gb 4g lte, unlimited 2g (you can get a $20 moto e phone from best buy, or pricematch it at walmart. If you set up autopay, its $25 instead a month, and you can get another $5 off a month for having some advertising app on your phone)

Bought one TracFone SIM kit, and rep'ed. I am currently on US Mobile 1GB plan for $21.xx a month, but am getting poor T-Mobile coverage with my unlock 2nd-gen Moto X for AT&T due to mostly I guess the lack of band 12 support in the SF Bay Area. Hope AT&T via TracFone would do a better job.
