Thread Details

If anyone is looking to get verizon prepaid, this seems like a good price on the G4 Play, it does require first months service at checkout (min. $45). I assume it is locked to verizon but i don't know and it is hard to find much info about this. I don't know if B&M has it at the same price or if it can be purchased without airtime.

I assume this is locked to Verizon then, considering it is 65 less than the unlocked version?

I believe this is correct (need to locate a more concrete source than my memory Big Grin ). Needs to be active on Verizon prepaid one month before it can be used on Verizon post paid or like PagePlus, etc for sure. But should be GSM unlocked as well (compatibility with a given GSM carrier is another matter depending on what exact bands it supports).

I've activated a couple of verizon prepaid's to pageplus by inserting my SIM before turning it on. Why is this phone different?

Ah, I see. Then chances are it's very easy to take it over to them. To be 100% honest, it's been a while since I've used PagePlus (I want to say since not too long after Verizon started allowing LTE on their network, so quite a while now). Therefore, not familiar these days with the current process/policies. Good info + Rep

Looks like the restriction is really only with Verizon post paid in that case (kinda ironic, no? laugh out loud)
