Anyway to calculate energy consumption of washer and dryer?

New roommate runs both every other day and I've noticed a serious spike in electricity usage. Trying to figure out how to calculate the cost based on my energy plan but all I can find is annual cost of $125 for washer.

Any suggestions?

One could turn off all the power in the house, check the meter, check the time, turn on a load of clothes to dry, wait for it to finish drying, and check the meter and time again. Oh and turn all stuff back on.

Subtract the previous number from the one you just took and multiply by the cost of energy.
Do the same math for the time and then you could take those results and compute your cost per hour to run the drier.

The US 240V is really just two phrases of 120V each. So you just need two meters and add them up.
