Tried a new beer last night that I got from a friend. It came all the way from Wisconsin and is not normally available out on the east coast.
![]() New Glarus Brewing Spotted Cow Ale. I think it is supposed to be a Saison Style, but it did not say on the label. It was very light in color and taste. It was smooth and very drinkable, but the flavor was a little tangy. Seemed like a nice warm whether brew to enjoy outside. Would probably go really well with some fish or other seafood. Sox |

The guy at my bottle shop in MA was doing tastings for Oskar Blues' "Deviant Dale" DIPA. I only got a small taste, but I'm really interested in checking out a full can of this when it hits our area - very, very citrusy and sweet (it could be overly sweet in quantity, but I'll definitely check it out.)
Also picked up some Uinta "Hop Notch" - not my favorite (thin/watery body, low carbonation and all the flavors were really understated). Kind of bummed on this one. In happier news, he said that he recently heard from his distributor that Lagunitas was going to be offering a rebranded Sucks/Holiday Leftovers as a permanent offering after they get their new brewery on line. When fresh this is a top five beer for me, so this makes me very happy (if true). Last edited by Monkfish; 02-22-2012 at 05:28 PM.. |

I'm really happy that some of the local breweries are embracing the West Coast IPA / citrus hops. I love their bottle art too.And I didn't think that Troegs was even available in MA...your post prompted me to check the brewery/state spreadsheet. Thanks! at the end of the day...no matter how good it is...it's just a beer. |

Avery Maharaja - Not bad but a bit too sweet and full bodied for my liking. Hides the booze pretty well.
I broke the news to my wife that I purchased homebrewing equipment and will be going to buy an ingredient kit while she is getting her hair did. Minor bruises, but I don't think I require stitches.
