So a few days back I was ranting here about the tax increase on booze here in MA. Went up 6.25% not more than 60 days ago. So, here is a picture from this weekend of one of my State Reps buying his booze in tax free New Hampshire.

got my monthly free case from stone, i chose IPA...super fresh considering it was botlled yesterday

any socal peeps near san diego want to share a case of vertical epic 090909 belgian imperial porter.... store cost, $72 for a case, my cost is $24... thats 12 22oz bombers... so 6 each... it has an interesting taste at first, but once you get 10oz into it I really enjoy it...a great winter tasting beer....

so far, sharing a case with arjunser... 1 more person can split the case if wanted, if not...more beer for us!

I was listening to the brewing network today. The head brewer said that IPA is 35% of their sales. That's a good chunk. Pale Ale is next in line at 25%.

Wow, I would not have guessed IPA and Pale make up 60% of their sales. I would have put Arrogant Bastard as having a much larger chunk of their sales than they obviously must.

IPA and PA are their 2 least intense beers that I know of. The only other one I can think of at this time that isn't real intense is Levitation. AB is considered to be a very complex beer. The vast majority of beer drinkers wouldn't like it. I love it. I think he said AB is their 3rd or 4th best seller.

I know, I guess I just didn't realize how much Stone is in the makret with "the vast majority of beer drinkers." It likely has to do with my region and beers closer to my area like Brooklyn and Sixpoint already taking more of that part of the market here but I think of Stone more as a complex brewery so the first thing I think of with them is their complex beer. Similar to how you don't think of Dogfish for their Shelter until you're in the DE area.

I always forget about the shelter. it's decent also, I just always take it for granted.

today was awesome... started with a duchess(sp?) sour beer...awesome...then went with a blind pig(wanted bitterness), then ended with a special cask of ruination with simcoe and amarillo...my cost $0...boss opened a tab for us....

oskar blues GORDON is a mighty fine beer... i think i need more...i got 1 free can from my company store...its the beer of the month...

Just had a Weyerbacher Hops Infusion IPA. Meh. It was ok. I won't buying that again.
