Some negative reviews about reliability. Make sure you buy with a good credit card extended warranty or buy the Square Trade warranty.

Those are some baaad reviews, not sure it's worth even the reduced price, but good find on a nice markdown.

I'm no expert, but that doesn't look like anywhere close to an $800 rowing machine. Reviews seem to back me up.

I have this rower and chose it after extensive review of low-end rowers. I think it is around the best you can get at the $300 price point so for $176 this is a heck of a deal. Of course you have to understand at the $300 price point you are making sacrifices and this is in no way comparable to the $800-$1200 rowers. This is not a concept 2 class rower, and you shouldn't even make those comparisons really. There are a lot of concerning reviews on Amazon about things breaking. On Academy's website there are some more reviews and not a lot of defect oriented ones. I haven't had any issues in 6 months or so.

True. I think you are looking at about 50% off the next best street price. Basically it is a $400 machine for $176.

I recall using a rower which had a lcd display. You basically competed against the animated character in his row boat. It really motivated me to use the machine.
