The Free Journal also includes a pen. I got to pick between two color options. Black or Black with Blue styling.
If you look for the last chance products that include 2 Bonus Refills, you can do well.
The Refills are 7.25 ea so getting the bonus and adding the %off it is about $15 for a pen and two refills.
The gel pen's I use may go bad after a long time. I use one up about every three months, so I may have gone a little overkill with seven years worth of refills. I didn't figure it out in years till writing this, and now I'll probably need to give some away. (Each new pen comes with ink + my 16 refills = 28 refills... Yikes)
I got 12 pens and 16 refills for $176.50 - List price would have been about $469.00
After my order, I was contacted and informed that an item in my order of 6 QTY (item: iAT0625H-1/15) is out of stock. Cross let me pick a replacement within a similar model. I went with the same type of pen only in red vs. silver. Seeing the red model at my office, I now regret my decision to go with Red. I'm not usually one for attention, and it stands out very well.
One of my managers and I made a comparison between a Cross Gel Ink Pen and His pen of choice, The Pilot G-2. The price point was his source of pride and was mentioned generously throughout the comparison. Both were .7mm Gel Ink. We couldn't tell hardly any difference between them.
I carry a pen in my pocket all day long, so the extra cost is worth it for me. The well-made metal pen gives it strength, so I don't break it. For a pen, they look fabulous. The pens are often complemented when borrowed. I will also use a pen for years. G-2's cheap; my Manager made the point that he's never run one out of ink because he's never kept track of one long enuff.
I have a Parker gel pen that has a cap on it and If you are going to carry it around in your pocket don't get a Gel pen with a cap. It leaked all over and made a big mess when I was in a group setting. The devil was put on Desk Duty for the rest of its life.
Cross is a little slow with Customer service, and it always seems to take two weeks or longer to get my orders.
