Double NAT issue with Plex and Emby
My network is as follows: FiOS router connected to the FiOS ONT in my garage (1st floor). The FiOS router is connected to an 8 port switch and that switch is connected to all the ethernet ports in my home. BTW according to the router page, it indicates that the FiOS router is in bridge mode.
On the 4th floor is a Netgear router connected to one of the ethernet ports connected to the switch on the FiOS router to allow great wi-fi coverage throughout the house. On that 4th floor, I have an all in one desktop that is running my Plex and Emby server. FYI the desktop is connected to the network via wi-fi since there are no ethernet ports near it, but I'm getting 150/160 speeds and my expected FiOS speeds are 150/150. BTW according to the router page, it indicates that the Netgear is set up as an AP.
Although I can access the Plex server from inside and outside my network, the server itself indicates that it is indirect and it doesn't seem to be fully or consistently connected. My Emby server on the same desktop can't be accessed anywhere, inside or outside my network, except on the desktop itself.
I'm pretty confident this is all due to the double NAT issue, but I'm not sure exactly what and how to forward where to ensure a seamless connection with both routers and allow me to access Plex and Emby consistently.
Can someone please walk a n00b through the process?
