I saw this on another forum almost a week ago. I've been waiting for someone to post it here but that didn't seem to happen. Now there's only 4 days left so I didn't want SDers to miss out. This sells on Amazon and elsewhere for about $18. This is the cheapest I've ever seen for a WiFi enabled smart plug. It's also the smallest one I've ever seen and I have lots of these things. You can put two of them on a wall outlet, the other ones are so big that you can only use them one at a time.

It also doubles as a nightlight.

Shipping is free as long as you order 3 or less. If you order 4 or more than you have to pay for shipping. So just order in batches of 3.

Click on this link, picked the US Warehouse and the US plug and the price will be $7.88. The price goes down the more you buy.

Short answer, yes it is possible to use it with SmartThings. Long answer, it's not easy. Well... not difficult per se just not plug and play. It'll also work with Alexa AKA Amazon Echo. Both will require you to get the Broadlink gateway. Then have SmartThings control the Broadlink gateway.

Seems like an interesting product, but will wait until I first get a controller before spending much on accessories. Especially if you have to buy a gateway to make it work...

i have one of these, was looking to buy a few more for other lights in the house. you dont need a gateway to make it work, you can control the socket from the app.
