Thread Details

So after a fella named Matthew threatened to destroy my porch this past week, I reluctantly took down my sun-baked blinds off my screen porch, rendering them pretty much useless (as they were brittle and most of them broke).

While there are very cheap replacements at Big Lots and from what I can tell, equivolent quality at other big box stores for as low as $15 and up to $100, I found some nice little nuggets on Amazon for anyone who may be in the same boat as I or just want to decorate a bit.

The following shades are just a few examples of the sizes found under this Calyx vendor.

Some notes:
1) These are probably not the highest quality ever made, however, these appear to be better quality than what I had up, and those lasted years outside.
2) the colors are not posted with the links because they have about 10 different selections of brown and you may or may not be able to find enough quantity of each patter or color in each exact size to make it matter.
3) These come with a valence and hardware which is pretty legit for the price.
4) These are a cheap way to re-outfit a porch suffering sun-scorching or just add some decor easily and on a budget

Personally, I ordered several different sizes and color patterns that I thought matched and fit okay. I would recommend if you need a succession of these blinds, to take full measurements and piece them together. For $120 I got 6 sets of full length blinds that would of easily cost me $300 for cheaper quality. * My mix was 3 of the New Guinea color at sizes: 43"x72, 44"x72 and 48"72 to cover a screen wall of 140" and 3 of the Tibet color at 52"x72, 71"x72 & 73"72 to cover a screen wall of roughly 190"

This is my first post, so if I need anything else in here please let me know.

Also, if i had to estimate, this deal will help dozens if not several dozens of people.....

At most... lol. I searched pretty thoroughly and while there were at least 20-40 more single (sometimes 2-3 quantity) shades from various sizes, there may not be much more than that. And I could not find any SIGNIFICANTLY reduced 96" length blinds for those who needed full Florida ceiling coverage (sadly).

LASTLY Amazon asked me to select 4-5 day standard on some of the shipments and they would credit me $5 for a pantry purchase. I chose not to but I could of easily had the shipment of 4 come 2-day and then individually had 1 come later for a free $5. Sneaky sneaky.

Good luck everyone. I hope this helps someone else out trying to recover from damage from Matthew!

I received several of my ordered blinds and they are actually quite superior quality to the ones I had. Solid wood head rail, with very solid hardware. The actual blind material is very sturdy woven/bamboo type style.

I also realize I may not of made this abundantly clear in the original post:

To find the cheap sizes, you need to look through the allotted options and color combinations. Only certain size/color combos are "clearanced"

For instance, a 72x72 in the Rangoon color might be $125 while in the Rustic color might only be $35. It takes a little digging, and again, i ended up with 3 blinds of one color and 3 of another color (all slightly different sizes) to make my porch complete.

Overall, i'm very happy with the blinds I got. More happy I only paid $120ish to finish a whole outside porch.
