I have one and posted a review. It is insanely smooth and I am impressed with every aspect of it. Caught 2 snook, 2 jacks last Friday. I will be buying another one (6000)

this reel is always cheap, not too much of a deal.

also, from what I remember it has many plastic parts and degrades rapidly. don't be fooled by the price/bearing count

poorly built junk. bearing count means nothing when it uses garbage quality bearings.

There are a good bit of bad reviews mixed in at Amazon. Thumbs up for the fishing deal but I think I will stick with my highly dependable Okumas that can be had for about the same price.

They don't claim to be waterproof but I have been fishing with some for better then ten years and they have taken abuse, dunks & short baths in saltwater and some falls in the sand yet just keep going and going. Quick rinse with the hose after fishing is all the maintenance I have ever needed.

I've never used a KastKing reel but I did buy their braided fishing line which was subpar.

I can say from experience that they reach out to you via email and say if you give them a 5 star review on their product they will send you a free gift.

Hey, I know personally sometimes I just want some cheap stuff to try out something new, so I pass on this little promo code deals that are passed on to me. I think they are decent quality for the money, which is CHEAP at least!

The 6000 size for $37.09 is a pretty darn good price. I specifically stated the 6000 size because I bought it at full price about 2 months ago. I was planning on buying the Penn Battle 2. Let me say, the spool does hold less line than the 6000 Penn Battle 2.

The reason I gave it a shot was the specs and for making it on the list of 2016 icast reels. It certainly not the best reel but for the money, it is not bad at all. It is a sealed system and I only use it for saltwater shore fishing. I rinse it after every use and still feels like new.

Does it compare to my shimano Ci4+ or my Penn Spinfisher? No. But if you are looking for a decently made and cheap reel, I would say go for it! I can not speak for the warranty as I have not needed to use it. Used it about 7 times in the last two month on the shores in Hawaii. largest fish so far was a little over 3 pounds so I can't vouch for the 41.5 pounds of drag it is supposedly capable of.

I am in need of a new spinning reel for surf shark fishing. Anyone out there use the 6000 to catch anything of larger size?

Anything that claims "highly rated" in the title is a red flag for me, however it does seem like the rating after removing the dishonest reviews is still around a 4.5: http://reviewmeta.com/amazon/B01ABW2HIE
