Automation two hubs one router (closed and open ecosystem ) possible ?

tarazan 643 172 October 17, 2016 at 09:25 PM
can I attach this hub to my router (inseton) :

because I can get the plugs cheap(er) - but its its a closed ecosystem

and attach another Samsung smartthings hub in the same router to control Phillips hue lights

I already got 2 from Costco (the insteon) but there is a deal on the Samsung as well. ( can be controlled using SIri as well not just Alexa and more open eco system)

This is my first try in automation , and I can use some help ... my house is rented so I prefer removable plugs not wall smart plugs

what I have now is amazon dot and insteon Costco starter kit .... please advise

hub/router/controller in the context of automation are the same thing.

It wouldn't be easy or reliable, if you can do it at all. Don't make your system unnecessarily complicated.

If you want to use both Insteon and Z-Wave forget about the cloud, alexa, and siri and find a controller that you can hook a zwave stick and an insteon modem (with a serial or usb interface) to.
