There are also consecutive deals on Porter Cable, Makita and others going on. Porter cable has a $30 rebate on its model 557 plate joiner (download it from Amazon.com) and Makita has graduated deals on its cordless drills. For example, I just purchased a $169 Makita cordless 14.4volt with 2 batteries and charger, got 20% off, and then got a $30 gift card rebate in addition. That's around $105 plus tax. Not bad, when the batteries are $50 each.
I wuz puzzled with your not being able to receive a discount from a particular web site, so I just went to Lowes.com to confirm. The prices that I'm looking at online already reflect the discount. For example, a Makita cordless 12volt is showing $79.20 online, whereas in the store it's $99 today, with the discount taken at the register. As far as the in-store coupon that are given in addition, I don't see that online, but in the store you'd get a $20 gift card with that drill. Not bad...$40 off a $99 drill. Maybe I could use TWO drills........
On the Lowes website, try typing "rebates" in the search window, and you should see a "Great values on tools" link. It's a current promotion, and it looks like its for a large number of tool brands. They're gift card rebates, not cash, but you'll need materials on which to use your new tools, right? Good luck!
So I went back and looked. I guess had I thought about it I could have figured it out. Most products are not priced like $159.20. That should have clued me in that the discount is in effect. Now, if Home Depot CS could have been so smart!
There is so many deals at home depot.
