Are RR and Catalinas manufacturer coupons same ? Answer is no and Not all RRs are manufacturer coupons. Manufacturer coupons in Walgreen's start with a 5 or 9, and are not followed by 00000.

Here are some email reply answered by walgreens customer service.(PDF's are at bottom of this post)

Summary of these pdf's :

1. In regards to the manufacturer coupons, multiple can be accepted as long
as the coupon does not state “not valid with any other offer”.

2. Two-week expiration date in RR is not decided by Walgreens, rather
the manufacturer. The restrictions are different for every state and are
stated on the coupons.

3. A coupon that is over the value of the item will be accepted. However the
additional amount is not returned to the customer. This is happened many times, like the case of chex mix this week, Coupon value was $1 and product price was 99 cent. Many users told coupons will beep and suggested different possible scenarios, but there was no need if we know about existence of this pdf earlier so we would have showed to cashiers if we needed. I would encourage everyone to have a copy of these pdf's

4. "Using manufacturer coupons and/or paying with a gift card should have no barring on whether the coupon prints out."

Someone can argue that these emails reply are one year old and there might be a change in policy , But answer is No. These policies are still same. But still if anyone has some doubt or suggestion, Please let us know, so any mistakes in the interpretation of these policies can be rectified. Same time, If you emailed Walgreen's about any specific doubts and got their reply back, plz share here, so it can be posted here for future reference.

RR Q & A

Q: Can I "roll" my RR, paying for the same deal with the RR from a previous purchase?
A. Typically, no. Do NOT pay for your next set of diapers (or whatever deal) with the Register Rewards coupon that you got from a previous purchase of the same deal, the Catalina machine will NOT spit out another RR. You CAN use the RR to purchase a different RR deal though, as long as it's not part of the same deal.

Q. Can I use the RR to pay for a gift card?
A. Typically the wording of the RR prohibits this but the register will allow it. Most cashiers will NOT take it, YMMV.

Q. I was unable to use multiple RRs to pay for my purchase, what gives?
A. The register considers most RRs as manufacturer's coupons and requires you to purchase 1 item for each RR redeemed. If you want to buy a $20 item with four $5 RRs, you will need 3 additional filler items. ALSO, some stores have a limit of one RR redeemed per purchase (or per day).

Q. Can I get cash back with my RR?
A. No, your RRs typically can cover up to the subtotal but not more than that.
