hi all, i'm the original poster to this topic.

I would like to know if anyone has been able to clone a sero account for their friend without having to do the TOL. i don't want to get the plan and do the TOL. would i be able to call or login to chat and telll them my cousin wants the same plan as me, but i don't want to take responsiblity to his plan, therefore could they put him on the same plan under his own name?

i haven't check back to this thread for ages. it seems like there's a lot of success stories.. hopefully everyone is satisfied with their plan now.
btw, i hope everyone utilize the repping feature on this forum. THANKS

PLEASE STOP PM-ING ME. I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST ANYONE IN GETTING THIS PLAN.

For those who are reading this thread after 10.13.08, please post your success stories w/ the following

-Date and time of call
-Any type of inconviences w/ the rep

FYI...

The plan code for the sero 500 minute is "FF1077" Tell them you want that plan and it's still active in the computer

The sero 1250 plan code is FF1079

Make sure you say another REP gave you the plan codes and told you that you could do it. This worked for me on the first try. The guy gave me the plan codes and told me if I had any trouble or wanted to call in and get another line to use those codes.

Original plan
Sero F&F 500mins for $30

i just called and successfully added

Newly added
1x $30 fair and flex - 500mins
1x $49.99 Fair and Flex - 1250mins

called this number 1-888-882-4030

basically if your an existing Sero customer with old grandfathered plan and you want another line for a family member now you can successfully do this.

what i did was call that number above. i told him that i would like to add a line to my existing phone service. the rep asked for my number and name, he also wanted to confirm my identity, next he proceeded asking what i would like to do. i told him i was interested in signing up one more line with the same plan i have now. he told me i can add up to 10 numbers on my account and it wouldn't be a problem. i was able to get the old $30 bucks a month plan without compromising existing plan. he also allowed me to order another line on the old $49 plan with 1250 mins. this plan was the old sero plan that no longer exist.

Steps taken:
  • 1-888-882-4030
  • be polite
  • ask if your talking to the Sero Department
  • ask politely if you can add a line to your account
  • rep would confirm your identity then perhaps ask what your trying to do
  • explain that you want to open another line with the same sero plan you have now
  • hopefully everything went well
  • confirm what he did to your account
  • ask for his name and say thanks...
  • your done

NOTES - make sure you takes notes and keep logs just in case Sprint tries to screw you.
  • ask for the reps name and write down the date and time of call.
  • make sure you ask him to repeat the changes
  • double check what other things he's done to the account other then adding a new line

Hope this info is useful. i don't know if it has been posted before.

If you don't believe me, check my attachment picture

here are 2 successful stories that have been buried in the long sero thread

Sprint does not necessarily have the cheapest plan at $50. Doesn't T-Mobile have an unlimited everything plan at $50 per month and that doesn't even require a contract? What about Boost's plan that goes down $5 per month after every six months if you pay your bill on time? And when we consider other carriers, we can also factor in employment discounts. Let's say we join a carrier where we qualify for a 20% discount. That means We can get a $63 plan and it will only cost us $50 but then we also get the benefit of not being treated like garbage for having SERO like they are doing us a favor. We can upgrade our phones at third part resellers which usually costs a lot less than coming directly from Sprint, too. I'm going to have to start shopping around.
T-Mobile's $50 plan is unlimited everything but 4G speed is limited to the first 100mb of data.

Boost mobile you have to add $5 per month for an android phone, $10 for a BB. I assume the iPhone or a WP doesn't work on their system since they don't offer them. Your plan reduces by $5 p/mth at the 6mth, 12mth, and 18mth. mark for a total of $15, as long as your payments are on time. They don't have a wide selection of phones and I don't know if you can buy your phone from a 3rd party retailer or bring your own phone over.

Sero users are no longer restricted to buying a phone from Sprint and can buy from BB. I'm not sure about other retailers.

I'm in the same boat as RUsum, live alone, so SERO is still one of the best deals around for what you get for somebody that doesn't need more then two lines.

I would have gotten a used Marquee rather than a used Samsung Epic 4g but for some reason these are hard to come by. On the local CL most of the Marquees for sale are flashed to Cricket. Not sure why that is. I like the Epic but paying that extra $10 'cuz it is a 4G phone is bothering me. I am thinking of going back to my TP2 until I can get hold of a decent priced Marquee. Not going to re-up and use my upgrade on a new one from Sprint. More likely to save that for when they roll out LTE in the area in a couple of months.

Yeah most Marquees around me are also only for being flashed. I guess they are stolen a lot which means they can't be used on Sprint and have to be used on another network. I don't really want to go back to my LG Optimus...it was kind of slow.

Might be true but with T-Mobile I can at least get a discount on the plan right? Doesn't Triple-A get 19%? I'm sure others get some other percentage off maybe up to 25% or 30%. But at 19% that $50 per month drops down to almost $40.

I have a simple question: what's the number to call in order to do TOL of a sero plan?

I called the retention dept. 1-877-775-4886, and I was told to call employee plan dept.
I called the employee plan dept. 1-888-876-8381, and I was told it's not possible to transfer a Sero plan.

I know I'll have to try many times in order to find someone that is willing to do the TOL, but which of the above number should I try, or is there any other #?

Thanks

Just in case somebody here hasn't heard of Microsoft giving away free Windows Phones, check out the info on this thread:
http://slickdeals.net/f/4120241-Swap-any-Smartphone-Android-Blackberry-iPhone-PalmOS-WebOS-some-Symbian-for-a-BNIB-Windows-Phone-no-contract-Microsoft-Store-B-M-EXTENDED-TO-4-5-2012?v=1&t=4120241

I got in on this deal and got myself a free HTC Arrive Windows Phone. Yes the phone is old compared to the newer windows phones but it's the only one offered by Sprint. It has all the updates of the newer models and it works great. Best thing, I didn't have to extend my contract or use a phone upgrade. I did have to upgrade to SEROP and I was told it would cost me $50 per month. When I checked my account online, it says $40, so we shall see who is correct.

^wish I had a microsoft store anywhere near me to take advantage of that. Instead I just picked up a nice used htc arrive for 80 bucks and man I love it. I've been waiting and waiting for sprint to get a new windows phone but it just hasn't happened. I'm settling on the arrive for now. In the first hour I changed the bootloader (HSPL) to allow for custom roms. Then I flashed an awesome custom rom (DFT v1 for gold_c) which completely unlocked it. I've been sideloading a ton of cool apps and tweaks. The rom has the latest mango update and it is screaming fast. No lag at all. Even playing need for speed is as smooth as can be. It's a great little device that does everything I need and tethering works great. For an older phone with only a 1ghz single core processor, this thing screams. It does not need a dual core by any means. IE9 browser is super fast and renders pages very well. Sprint upgraded me to the $40 sero premium no problem when I called the employee line. Activation only took a few minutes.

Looks like a few wp7 developers/hackers are working on a tango rom for the arrive and one should be a ready in a few days.

Nice find for $80. Every place I looked wanted $150 or more. I just couldn't see paying that much for a phone that is over a year old. Is Sprint charging you the $40 plus $10 or just the $40? I was told it would be $50 but my account shows $40.

Wish I had your knowledge on how to unlock the phone and install ROM's. I've never done anything like that. What exactly are the advantages?

Damn, you got an Arrive for $80? Nice deal... And that's awesome that WP7 phones have that level of hacking (custom roms, etc...) You got tethering to work too? Now I'm DEFINITELY interested...

Yeah, I'm loving the phone so far...did some more modding to it today and installed a few more apps. Sprint only charges $40, not $50.

Unlocking the phone and installing custom roms is actually pretty simple. It doesn't take long to learn a bit by reading over at xda-developers. Essentially, you need to run a utility that will downgrade the bootloader, then run two more utilites to RSPL/HSPL the device. Once that is done you are free to load any custom rom. There are only a few so far for the arrive but they are good and more are coming out soon. Usually the custom roms come fully unlocked so you can do anything you want on them and sideload anything. The advantages are that you always get the latest and greatest updates to the operating system instead of waiting around for sprint to issue updates. Also, being able to sideload anything you want is nice. Wifi tethering is probably my biggest advantage. It works great.

Thanks for the info. It would be great to be able to get the updates without having to wait for Sprint to release them. You lost me with "you need to run a utility that will downgrade the bootloader, then run two more utilites to RSPL/HSPL the device. " Did you mean download the bootloader? Confused I have no idea what RSPL/HSPL stands for. Do you still have the tiles when you install a custom ROM? Do you have a link for the ROM? TIA
