Thread Details

In this forum, we are all here to help each other and learn. (Crikey. Almost two years since I have joined and someone had to explain what a particular smiley meant just last week. Stick Out Tongue) I learned something from a wise q girl a long time ago...."A coupon is a form of payment." Armed with that knowledge, don't fear using the q as long as you are using them as the manufacturer states.

I know there are a couple of websites around that offer to teach you how to coupon shop for a fee. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you there is NO NEED to pay anyone a fee to learn to shop. Smilie All you need is SD and the coupon love you can get here is amazing.

Coupon shopping takes one thing....the confidence to learn and try. It can be scary but you can do it. Again, no need to pay someone. There are many many Jedi masters here that like to help Padawans.

I know it seems like SD can be overwhelming. Especially for those with little time to peruse the entire board. Here are some of my fave threads...

Here's a thread with the rules. I like it because the first two posts have a good list of abbreviations for nooblets. There is some really good info in it too. Not just boring old rules....

LASTLY......don't be afraid to ask! Read the wiki. (What's a and/or Wiki? It's the first post after the initial post in a thread. It can be updated by any registered user. Just like Wikipedia!) And then if you still have a question, I am sure someone will help. PM, IM, phone a friend or bat call. Just ask. Smilie

Any suggestions on reliable, low cost online pharmacies?
I notice that the price difference between online and b&m is huge. Any reason why?

Maybe online meds come from foreign places?? I'm really not sure but I would check into origin of meds before I ingested them. (remember the Chinese dogfood that killed many American pets??? Not that I really trust the FDA either.....) HTH!

Thanks for providing this informative post!

I can't wait to get started, I'm a new Canadian transplant to the Cali. A longtime coupon shopper in Canada, but the deals available to the USA are so much better! There's a lot of new things to learn and lots of information to digest, but I am excited to be apart of it all!

RX drug costs in the United States are the highest in the world. We practically finance the prescription drug world (IE, the research & testing, etc--that drug companies invest in discovering new medicines and treatments), so the entire world benefits from the amount of $$ we pay... Here is a wiki entry about it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prescription_drug_prices_in_the_United_States

There are actually better articles online about how we're being hosed with the inflated costs for these medications.

As others have said, the online pharmacies are mostly out of the country.. if I didn't have insurance, then I would only buy from Canada though.. some of the other countries which sell online don't seem to be closely monitored by a government group (like the FDA does in the US).

Also make sure you have a valid RX for the meds - I have heard about the Feds on knocking on peoples doors--who have purchased controlled substances via the internet.. and who didn't have a RX for the medicine.

HTH.

Just thought I'd say a quick hello and thanks to everyone here for posting all this information!

I've always used coupons, but never quite as effectively as I see here, so I'm ready to learn!

I have lot of fond memories of growing up and coming home with 40 boxes of pop tarts or a cart full of spaghetti-o's thanks to my mother's smart shopping. I guess it's hard to understand when you're a little kid how things like that worked, and I probably didn't care that they were free after coupons, but buying 40 of any one thing was cool! Sometimes my mom even let me hold onto the coupons and hand them to the cashier! OMG

Now I'm in college and all my friends laugh at my coupons but they don't know what they're missing. Wink I just try to shop alone!

I've dabbled in Walgreens, and I've been reading a lot about the drugstore deals before I joined, trying to get a hang of the lingo. I'm excited to make my deals better and mybe try out CVS too!

Hello all! I'm farily new to couponing, DH and I decided to see whether getting the Sunday paper was worth it or not, and we found out quickly it was! We had always bought what was on sale and used our local grocery ads to determine our shopping list, but have recently branched out to CVS. I have to admit, I'm addicted. I'm still learning, but this thread has been great and has answered a lot of questions, so thanks to all!

Hi everyone. I'm new to coupon shopping and I'd like to ask a question. I'm leaning that buying a Sunday paper is worth it for the coupon inserts. Is there any other way to get the coupon inserts (smart source, redplum, and P&G) besides buying a paper? Thanks!
