In this forum, we are all here to help each other and learn. (Crikey. Almost two years since I have joined and someone had to explain what a particular smiley meant just last week. Stick Out Tongue) I learned something from a wise q girl a long time ago...."A coupon is a form of payment." Armed with that knowledge, don't fear using the q as long as you are using them as the manufacturer states.

I know there are a couple of websites around that offer to teach you how to coupon shop for a fee. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you there is NO NEED to pay anyone a fee to learn to shop. Smilie All you need is SD and the coupon love you can get here is amazing.

Coupon shopping takes one thing....the confidence to learn and try. It can be scary but you can do it. Again, no need to pay someone. There are many many Jedi masters here that like to help Padawans.

I know it seems like SD can be overwhelming. Especially for those with little time to peruse the entire board. Here are some of my fave threads...

Here's a thread with the rules. I like it because the first two posts have a good list of abbreviations for nooblets. There is some really good info in it too. Not just boring old rules....

Abbreviations Sitewide and/or Commonly Used Abbreviations in the DS forum (located in WIKI)

LASTLY......don't be afraid to ask! Read the wiki. (What's a and/or Wiki? It's the first post after the initial post in a thread. It can be updated by any registered user. Just like Wikipedia!) And then if you still have a question, I am sure someone will help. PM, IM, phone a friend or bat call. Just ask. Smilie

The abbreviations link is broken and I'm completely lost on some of them. Can anyone help me out?
What is it you are having trouble with?

Also, you can check post #3 here but most of these are not for the DS/GS forum. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=156903&t=40596

Just found one that relates more to the DS/GS forum here...http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=156903&t=2805599#anchanchabbreviations Check down to about the third post. Not sure who did this work, but they did a good job. Cracked me up that they included me in the abbreviations list. laugh out loud I want to know who did that. Blowkiss

Can someone please help me. I keep getting harassed at my local store about the terms "One Coupon Per Purchase". They are saying it means only one coupon for the entire transaction. I am trying to find something that indicates that one coupon per purchase actually means One coupon per item. In otherwords, If I buy 10 Soaps I can use 10 Coupons all in the same transaction. I think they are totally confused about the wording, and are making it difficult to use coupons at their store despite their corporate policy.

Thanks in advance Smilie

Show your cashier a P&G Q that states 4 per transaction or the new Allegra Q that states ONE per transaction.

What store might this be? Sometimes "up the chain" will help. Sometimes not. laugh out loud

When I run into this problem, it usually gos like this:

Uninformed: Sorry, ma'am. This coupon says "One Coupon Per Purchase"

Crazy Lady: (Confidently) Indeed it does! Thank you for pointing that out. And seeing how I am purchasing 5, then I am entitled to use 5 coupons. Then I go on to explain to them the difference between a purchase and a transaction.

You must have entered a used code just prior to that. I've noticed that when you enter a used survey code it takes you straight to the coupon you got when you filled out that survey, but after that, it won't let you enter any more codes. What you should do is either:
a) Open a different browser, i.e. if you were using Internet Explorer, switch to Firefox or
b) Close all your browser windows.

Then try again. It should work after that!

You can try WalMart or Target. May want to search those threads to check pricing. Other than that, I am not sure of any deals coming up soon. MOST stores have their own threads with the ads a few weeks in advance, you could always search those threads also, WAGS, CVS, RA, etc. HTH

I put in an order at WM when the q came out. Still haven't restocked. I am not having much hope there.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone in this forum to help us newbies out when it comes to coupons....I went to Food Lion last night armed with coupons and brought my $78 grocery bill down to $48! I have been reading a little bit every night trying to get things right. I know it's not as good as what some of you can do, but it's a start for me Smilie I was sooooo proud of myself! laugh out loud
