Thread Details

In this forum, we are all here to help each other and learn. (Crikey. Almost two years since I have joined and someone had to explain what a particular smiley meant just last week. Stick Out Tongue) I learned something from a wise q girl a long time ago...."A coupon is a form of payment." Armed with that knowledge, don't fear using the q as long as you are using them as the manufacturer states.

I know there are a couple of websites around that offer to teach you how to coupon shop for a fee. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you there is NO NEED to pay anyone a fee to learn to shop. Smilie All you need is SD and the coupon love you can get here is amazing.

Coupon shopping takes one thing....the confidence to learn and try. It can be scary but you can do it. Again, no need to pay someone. There are many many Jedi masters here that like to help Padawans.

I know it seems like SD can be overwhelming. Especially for those with little time to peruse the entire board. Here are some of my fave threads...

Here's a thread with the rules. I like it because the first two posts have a good list of abbreviations for nooblets. There is some really good info in it too. Not just boring old rules....

The Drugstore and Grocery Store Index and Information Thread is mod stickied to the top. Maybe you'd like to create a personal sticky of some of them? At the top of the thread, on the far right is a thread tool link. You can subscribe (my personal fave) or sticky any thread you like.

List of Common Abbreivations

Abbreviations Sitewide and/or Commonly Used Abbreviations in the DS forum (located in WIKI)

LASTLY......don't be afraid to ask! Read the wiki. (What's a and/or Wiki? It's the first post after the initial post in a thread. It can be updated by any registered user. Just like Wikipedia!) And then if you still have a question, I am sure someone will help. PM, IM, phone a friend or bat call. Just ask. Smilie

Quick question there is a printable coupon for 1.25 off jimmy deans sandwich. When you buy any orange juice. I also have a 75 cent off orange juice coupon. Can I use both coupons? Since the first one is off jimmy dean if i buy orange juice.
Yes, you should be able to use both when you buy both a Jimmy Deans Delight Sandwich (coded for Jimmy Deans) and the 59 oz Orange Juice (any brand).

Not really, unless you can find a local clipper.

I want to comment on how much I love the title of this thread. Many, many times when the coupon overwhelm me or I let a RR expire - I run the title through my mind. "Don't be afraid. . . . ." I have been able to give away over $10,000 in products in the last 4 years to shelters, food banks and neighbors in need. I live in a town that is really struggling and needs help. The advice and deals on this site are amazing. Thank you.

It also might help in posting to not use ALL caps. It makes it tough to read.

This is my very first post on this website! I heard about it from a friend a while ago. I want to learn more about couponing so I'm gonna try to learn by reading things on here. Just wanted to say hello and I hope I learn a lot from all of you great couponers. I guess first thing is to learn how to even navigate this website....hope I don't make a lot of mistakes. Anyway, I will try not to post too many stupid questions. Thanks again, and I really admire all of you!Wink

Welcome All newbies!

The first threads you see when you go to the Drugstore/Grocery forum are going to be most helpful to you. If you're looking for a thread for a specific store, chances it will be HERE.

And then be sure to read HERE about how to properly use your coupons. This thread and the one above it are going to be most helpful for you on your couponing journey.

Glasses2And remember to read, read, and read some more! Reading Usually a question you're thinking of has already been asked (and answered!) But there are no stupid questions and you're among fellow couponers; both new and experienced so feel free to ask if you don't understand something. hug

Welcome SD is the BEST site for all types of deals. Don't just get your feet wet in the DS/GS forum (although its my favorite for deals. heart). When you get a chance, check out Hot Deals, Freebies, Contests and Sweepstakes too!

From what I've read, you can't rep until you have 50 posts, so we have a ways to go yet

NonoYou can rep and leave a nice comment, but it won't add rep points until you have more posts. The points don't really matter, it's the rep comments that are fun to read. Big GrinEvil
