Nice
I would use the FTP for my file transfers so I can stop using it on my pc. I would also use the DDNS and see if that makes browsing any faster on my network at home since I have a roommate that is always on the internet. With the 1.5 terabyte limit per drive, I will possibly wait till I find 2 1.5 terabyte drives on here and stick those suckers in there. I would also use it to watch and play all my movies, videos, and music for my parties. I have a moded XBOX that I use for a media player so this would be an awesome upgrade.
I might do more or change it up a bit but that is the general things I would like to try out.

Consolidate all my media files (iTunes, video, etc) into a central location, revive my old websites/blogs that i used to keep for my car building antics and 2 separate ones for each of my children's antics. I've let them stagnate since it's a hassle to manage the Gentoo box i'd been hosting them on. I've got too much to do to be doing my own administration type stuff. This will replace the Cisco NSLU2 i'm currently using for network storage and was going to use as a mini-webserver (it's a bit too underpowered for that though).

I recently purchased the WD HD Media Player as a simple solution to play my digital media files without going full blown network streaming. This weekend I started to rip my dvd collection, I had my desktop and laptop putting in work, so I could start to pack them up and declutter my living room. Unfortunately last night my external HDD hung up on me and has me worried that it may be starting to go bad. I come to Slickdeals this morning and see this contest. How fortuitous!
This would become my solution and I would just be able to stream to my PS3, 360, Laptop, and Desktop. All in all, a nice solution.

Too many choices! Id either use it as a web server for a game OR more likely use it as an in house media server. Im moving in with relative who are movie CRAZY, we all have discs & hard drives & computers everywhere just for our movies. This would be a great space saving option, we'd probably be able to clean up %90 of movie disc clutter, and several CPUs

Hi,
I would use this for distributing video and pic. to the other PCs in my home, and when I'm traveling on business...
Now just need a SD on some 1.5 TB drives to go with it!

Awesome NAS system that would tie in with my BeyondTV box!
I am sure I could come up with some neat solutions using my DD-WRT router and maybe even be able to access shows when i am on the road (i travel for work).
The networking knowledge i'd gain would be yet another SLICKDEAL! =)

So I have had for the past year or so all of my DVD Collection (around 210 discs) ripped (entire vob and menu etc) to a couple of giant hard disks (1 TB and .5TB ). I have recently placed them in a NAS. I can play any movie i own on any computer in my house without ever having to monkey around with a disc. Now I just need a really nice way to play them on my TV - I dislike full computers and bulky keyboards in my family room.
The Mvix is perfect for this!

Very cool device.
I'll use it for either a data store for my new MythTV network, if I can get that to work, or else as a store for all of my home photos. The photos are currently on a mirrored pair of 500Gb drives within the OpenSuse server in my basement.

I will use it for a media server to my XBox 360. I will also install Subsonic Media Streamer and use it to listen to my music at work. This will be better than having my PC on 24/7 - less power consumption and less noise. Thanks!

I will use this as a media server for my HTPC (built from slickdeals), but also as a NAS for my different computers around the house so that I can save power and not have to leave one computer on 24/7 to act as a server.
