ok here is the deal: My wife and i hadis small business idea for awhile. Here is some reasons: I work for a company that gave my department a letter that we are need till february 1. (perfect timing in the worst job market time). My wife because of the problem job market has 3 part time jobs to make ends meet. No benefits of course as they are all part time. We have 2 small children: 9 months and 2 years. I think that says enough why we cannot afford to buy one on our own. We have been talking about a home business for 2 years where my wife and i can put both our experiences together and not complely rely on our very fragil jobs to build something. But we cannot get of the ground because of lack of finances. I think such a Dell laptop would be a perfect place to start putting this small business idea into reality. Imagine this pre-christmas gift to the wife. Can't wait to see her face what daddy brought home. Thanks for the oppurtunity.

My two daughters race junior dragsters. The 9 year old goes 12.90 in the 1/8th mile, the 12 year old goes 8.90 in the 1/8th. This type of racing is called bracket racing and we have to predict what the car will run for the that particular time and weather set up. Right now we just guess at how fast that car will go, 12.98, 13.05, etc. But if we had a laptop---We could track our runs with the current weather conditions--temperature, humiditiy, wind speed and so forth. The kids could also watch movies on it between rounds and play games to keep from getting bored.

...my job - more specifically - getting a head in my job. I have a P3(697MHz) Toshiba Tecra8100 w/256MB RAM and a 10GB drive. It has (1) USB 1.1 port and no internal NIC - I use a Belkin WirelessG card (it won't run the (pre)N card I have). I also carry a 16-bit NetGear PCMCIA card with an 7' stretch of Cat just in case. I mainly do signal/line testing. So, just about anything I can hook up to a system and pull/read a signal with will work and that's part of the problem... it's becoming increasingly more difficult to hook up - let alone meet reqs for running current software. The other part is not being able to really take advantage of sidework, again, due to limited functionality. The Tecra has been with me from the start. Frankly, it amazes me it's lasted as long as it has - go Toshiba =) But it's time to hand it over to the kids, upgrade my laptop and my position at work, along with it.

Wow! What I would be able to do with the Vostro 1310 Laptop! I've been a Dell customer since 1998 when I received my first Dell laptop with my former job. I was hooked. on the quality that Dell offered. Goodbye to Tandy [okay, I admit it, my very first computer was a Tandy. Goodbye to Gateway and HP!
I have it all planned as to what I'd do with my very own Vostro1310 Laptop. Since I work mostly out of my home office, I'd be able to keep all of my business reports and auditing work on it and even bring it with me when I'm traveling. What a pleasure to be able to work while waiting at an airport or on a plane! And since it would be my very own computer I'd also be able to keep my personal banking information of it. Ah, that would be so wonderful to be in a hotel room and still be able to recouncile my checkbook. Wow, what a wonderful Christmas gift that would be for me! First, I'm an eighth grade Math teacher. I'd use this computer to work on spreadsheets in the administrative side of my classroom.

I'm also the director of a program called Bible Quizzing for the state of Arkansas. The program encourages young people to learn up to 500 verses a year. It teachers self-discipline, positive attitudes, time management, study skills, and most importantly the word of God. Young people involved in Bible quizzing are a bit above average in their schooling as well. I'd use this laptop to benefit the Arkanasas program through writing questions for the tournament and keeping score and statistics at the program.

I'm currently in my last year of college. After i'm finished i'm moving to start graduate school. I could really use a laptop to take with me to classes, as i am leaving my current computer at home for my father to use to run his small business.
