Well, the reputation points and the number of post are not equal to the timing and the attention spend on SD. I do not think majority of SDers are hunters sitting in front of the screen every minutes. This platform is built for information sharing. Maybe you catch up a good deal ahead of others but it does not mean other people are not participating. Everyone has a different standard in minds what kind of deal is attractive. Some of the hot deals such as laptop less than $400 bucks won many thumbs up, Yes, it gives the poster good reputation But the price that buyer spent might not be that worthful considering the configuration. That is misleading to our customers. That is why I usually not decided to post such kind of infor even though I could. I would rather help our friends in SD to find the deal with balance between quality and value.

Back to the topic. We all want good luck on the anniversary Givaway. Everyone has equal chance. However, life is not fair, even the person spend $1 can win BIG lottery. I show my respect and understanding to SD and every users' contributions because they give us so many benefits and help us save $$$. I do not mean abuse or challange them. So I won the Sony W290 from the onsale contest.

Apparently they're sold out and want to substitute it with the w190. This camera is a much more basic, $50 cheaper camera.

The contest terms and condition stated that they could substitute an out of stock prize with one of equal or greater value. This certainly does not qualify. Now, before anyone says it, of course I am glad to just get anything. But my complaint is two-fold.

1. I was already expecting the much nicer w290. I've been notified that I won, confirmed my shipping address, and then told that it would ship soon.
2. Onsale is not following the terms of the contest. I certainly followed them. If I had violated any portion of it I would have definitely been disqualified. Why should onsale get to disregard the terms of the contest?

Same here I won the Acer Aspire One AOD-250-1695 ...but out of stock.They are substituting it with Acer Aspire ONE D250-1151...only difference I see is the replacement has windows xp home instead of windows 7 starter.. not a big deal 4 me ... im not complaining .. its free..........thanks slickdeals many times over :)

Wow, I got the same e-mail from onsale.com. I was supposed to have won the Acer Aspire One AOD250-1197 10.1" Netbook, and they say it's currently out of stock and wanted to substitute it with a model that has a smaller hard drive, Windows XP instead of Windows 7, and only a 3-cell battery and not a 6-cell! I guess I'll email them and see if they have any other substitutions available. I know I should be happy to have won anything, right? But, part of me feels like I need to ask anyway. Seems like I'm not the only one they're trying to downgrade. We'll see. Anyway, thanks SD!!! :)

Update: I checked the website and found the same computer I won available in stock, but in different colors. Hopefully they'll let me get one of those instead.

Ok, it appears the problem is solved. Looks like they'll be sending me the Sony Cyber-shot T90, which is a better camera than the W290. A very nice compromise on their part.

Hopefully it all works out for the other contest winners :)

Received email reply back from Onsale, and they agreed to send me the same exact computer I won, but in a different color, no problems. At first they offered a lesser one, but I just asked if they could do equal value since the other colors were in stock. Thanks again SD!

Yeah, I called Phillip this morning, and talked to him. He said a few of the winnings got mailed, but not many. He was waiting on tracking numbers, and that he'll email me mine as soon as he gets it. And he apologized for the long wait. Hope it arrives soon.
