Still only 50mb max file size, but this is good for files, photos, and most zipped mp3 albums, enjoy!

If the above space is not sufficient try the below service
Humyo provides 30 GB (gigabytes) of free online storage space which can be used to backup user files. Of 30GB disk space, 25GB is reserved for photos, music and videos which likely to use bigger part of the free space anyway, while 5GB can be used to store other files.
Humyo has four key pillars of features, i.e. Store, Send, Access and Publish. With Humyo file manager, it will automatically synchronize, backup and upload files to Humyo secure, fully backup servers clusters in the background. The files hosted by Humyo centrally online and can be accessed from anywhere such as any computer or mobile cell phone with a Internet connection. The uploaded files can be sent to friends for sharing via email with recall or revoke sharing support. Or user can choose to publish the files or media on the web using Humyo embedded media player to stream your photos, music and videos to visitors.
Unfortunately, the Humyo desktop client that automatically backup data, synchronize multiple PCs, work as is virtual hard disk is only available for premium account users.

The SkyDrive team has been working diligently in the past of 6 months in order to further improve the product reliability and quality based on the feedback gathered across worldwide users. Now the promises have become true. The new and improved features are listed as below:
25 GB of free online storage.
Available in 6 more regions and 13 more languages.
Download entire folders as Zip files (limited release).
Gorgeous online slide show for your photos.
More control over your online data such as download photos directly to Windows Live Photo Gallery, download as a zip file, move files between folders and copy files to multiple folders.
Increase the display size of your photos.
Order print from Skydrive.
Tag your friends and family.
Easily share your files and photos without requiring your recipient to register for Windows Live ID.
With the new improved features, Skydrive definitely worth to try and use. If you dont have SkyDrive account, go and sign (http://skydrive.live.com/) up now.

Its the new MSFT Mesh Service, you can now sync and save folders from multiple computers and access them where ever you want!
Its like a free 5GB flashdrive...
So what is the difference between mesh and SkyDrive you may ask?
Well Here it is:
In SkyDrive you get storage space which you can upload files to. in Mesh you download an application which automatically keeps selected folders synced online!
ALSO some people have mentioned sync...from the looks of it, it seems mesh might be the new sync.
portable porn anyone? lol jk
Thanks to the post below for skydrive! Repp'd!

Thumbs up!! I like Mesh a lot, I've been using it for over 6 months with three computers (a PC laptop, a PC desktop, and a Macbook). I've tried a few other services (syncplicity, drop.io, dropbox, etc.) and keep coming back to Mesh. Probably because of the simplicity (drag and drop into integrated folders in explorer and finder) and size (5 GB). I'm hoping MS bumps the capacity up to 25 GB (like SkyDrive), and adds file versioning. For now, it works great for me.

i use mesh too, and while I dont think there is anything inherently wrong with it, i just prefer dropbox.

I love Mesh, but on Windows it adds this ridiculous sidebar on all the sync folders. If they give the option to remove that sidebar, I'm sold on that instead of using Dropbox, Spideroak, or Live Sync

Also, does it re-upload the whole file each time a small part of it changes?

The only thing I HATE about this is that you cannot just upload files FTP style.. you have to do one by one.. which is just wow frustrating when you have a lot of files you want to back up besides zipping photos into 50mb increments.. which I just have too many to do that.

Live Sync, Live Mesh, Skydrive, why can't MS just make this one product? I'm confused.

I don't know if it is even working for me.
I am attempting to upload a few files, maybe a few gb's right now. It isn't giving me anything to state the upload rate or anything. I just have a box stating uploading . For all I know it could be frozen..

Please verify your contract with your ISP before using these kinds of products. More and more broadband providers are putting/testing usage caps on broadband accounts in the United States. ISPs have proposed, are testing, or implementing usage caps as low as 5GB per month (Frontier, some DSL accounts). Using any online backup tool like this could easily exceed your broadband cap leading to account termination or excess usage fees. While Comcast (250GB per month) probably won't create problems, other ISPs like Road Runner and AT&T (the former now testing a 5-20GB per month usage cap in Beaumont, Texas with plans to take this nationwide in 2009 and the latter testing 20-150GB a month) could create significant overusage charges (Road Runner charges $1 per GB for excess usage in Beaumont currently.)

I use this to sync my schools document folder on my laptop with my desktop. This way when I am working on stuff at school on my laptop I can come home and hop on the desktop and pick up where I left off without having to manually transfer files on usb stick or email them to myelf. WOrks pretty well so far.
Plus it keeps a copy of my school docs online so I can access them from a lab computer which comes in handy from time to time.
I use Ifile.it for a while and think no other can beat it. The connection speed is normally good.
Just FYI: http://ifile.it (http://ifile.it/)
PROs:
What are the upload file size limits?
Guest User ~ 100MB per file
Free Registered User ~ 150MB 250MB ! per file
If uploading more than one file, the total can't exceed the above
These limits are subject to change, we used to have higher limits but it seems uploading / downloading very large files over HTTP is an unreliable process and its hard to make any guarantees above 100MB
Premium accounts will probably have a higher upload file size, but not yet available
How many files can I upload?
As many files as you like :)
Can i resume downloads?
Yes! even for free users :)
Cons:
How long are my files kept?
Guest users, 30 days after last download
Free registered users:
90 days after last download for files below 100MB
30 days after last download for files above 100MB
Note the above limits are not strictly enforced and in reality sometimes takes longer if there's no need and plenty of storage available at times

Agreed .. this service sucks if they don't let you FTP to it. I have 20K pictures totalling about 30gb. Would love to backup 25gb of them but I'm not going to spend all week zipping and uploading.

The idea is good and seems to be pretty slick, but this beast uses 100% of CPU. It's happening to both of my computers. So good luck with it. Looks like typical MS beta - buggy as hell...

should i be worried about anything?

I have 3 comps 2 laps and 1 desk they use only 2% CPU with Mesh. Unlike Sync, Mesh is much more cleaner and looks a lot better and less buggy. but skydrive looks good for those with large file sharing needs. Someone mentioned the bandwidth Caps. MOST ISPs are capping at around 200GB but that only applies to high bandwidth usage users.

ATT is testing caps in some areas of the country with the intent of going nationwide with it. I have att uverse and if they add a cap I say goodbye to their internet service. They have a 18mb connection and will limit traffic to 150GB a month on their fastest line. It's a joke.

Anyone know how to do this?
from a web server to an online file storage service you'd need:
1. ftp upload capabilities on the online file storage service; i dunno about these microsoft ones, but i do know that online file folders from godaddy supports ftp as well as web access and webdav/drag-n-drop from windows.
2. console access on your web account to compress and then ftp the resulting archive; without console access, you'd need a script or add-on for your cms that did the same thing. don't forget to backup your database.
from one file service to another, you'd need "sideload" capabilities, a feature that supports the transfer of files to/from another service directly without you having to download them to your local pc first.

Ok, here we go with the fanboy comments....
Speaking of fanboy I am a fan of your mom.
I'm also a long time Mesh user and can't live without it. I've had almost 0 issues with it and love that Mesh RDP works through firewalls without issue, unlike regular Windows RDP.
I was hoping this SkyDrive thing would solve a long time dilemma my wife has had. She needs something where she can back up her 30 gig of photos, be able to browse the thumbnails online, it will auto sync as she adds new photos, and if she moves them around on her HD, it will figure that out, BUT IF SHE DELETES them from her HD, it will NOT delete them from the online repository.
Not really sure of the best way to do that .. the logic behind that would be a bit specialized.
