Its not like its a deal gone bad or something.

Why does it matter that someone gave it a thumbs down? If it's a good or decent deal, someone will recognize that. A good Slickdealer is going to ignore those most of the time. I know I do.

mods can't affect +/- and i don't think we should. its a rating of slickdealer's opinions. c&s is the contest and sweepstakes stickied in the freebie section. if you care about the thumbs up/down vote thumbs up and it'll probably go up.

I've learned from experiance, that some people here are bitter.
Example: The C&S thread. Someone doesn't win, so they thumbs down the thread.

Honestly, I don't think a thump rating keeps people out of a thread. It's more of couriousity killing the cat. People want to see why it's so bad.

since i never voted on that thread...i just thumbed up it...and now it has a blank rating (no up | no down)

I, personally, dont see where the Podium Forum is necessary. IMO, its just people arguing about politics and religion (primarily).

This is a deal web site. I think contests and sweepstakes for prizes and money are more closely related to this site than Politics and Religion.

But, thats my opinion, so I stay out of the Podium. I dont go in and thumbs down someone opinion just because I dont agree.

Personally I think any of the forums outside Deal Discussions are Marginal in value at best. Product Reviews is the only one a frequent- and only in spurts. The lounge and the podium, for example offer little to no value to this site ( I would love to see thumb ratings for those forums if that were possible! :lol: )
The C&S thread isn't my cup of tea, but I could care less about it's rating. I don't read it and, as you said, it doesn't affect me. I don't think it really belongs here, but I will devote effort to having the Lounge and Podium removed before I worried about C&S.

Just telling it like it is. I remember there was quite a bit of discussion about that thread especially due to the discussion relating to the request of a dedicated forum for C&S.
