I feel that seeing this blue theme on this website as a major turnoff. It honestly was a major turnoff when I first found out about it. I thought it was a small forum with not many users, along with everyone being inactive. It reminds me of the 60's.
VBulletin supports different themes, why not let the users chose what theme they want?

actually there's a lot of customized features mr sd has put into vb. if he allowed extra themes, he'd have to recode all of that. too much time

i can't say for sure since i didn't do any of them, but lots of things including simple items like where the forum jump bar shows up require custom coding.
Mother of god, the man himself posted. I think I wet myself. Blue is fine.

Whats wrong with blue?
I feel that it is too plain. I swear my grandma wore clothes with this type of design all the time when she was like 20... no joke.
Blue is out of style-
You need a watermark or something like that in the background... that can be a shade of blue, but not this horrendous one :).
And as to the code, I think that changing the themes or colors here and there won't mess up these special features...

Blue is a nice, cool color. Not too sure about the pale yellow, it is bright sometimes, but I certainly like the blue.

its a thing with vb. if you want to add themes, every custom code needs to be redone. is it really that distracting?

Very distracting :). Not really, but it would be awesome to be able to change the colors around, and make it look a little more presentable to newcomers. First time I saw the site, I thought at first it was just some high school kid trying to get refferal links and easy $$$, so I didn't check it as much, and I checked the 'other' sites.

Well, it's all a matter of preference. Obviously, one cannot justify that blue being a main part of the theme on this website as being the best choice just because the majority of users like it. The obviously solution would be to enable the user to individually choose the theme he/she wants. As mentioned, however, it would require a lot of coding to be done on each theme. That's too much of a hassle. Since Mr. Slickdeals himself doesn't want to take the time to do this, whatever color he chooses will stay. Nothing else to really argue about. This is just something we can't do anything about.

I like the blue. It's nice.
Personally, I find blue serene. I'm happy without alot of bells and whistles because I've got a slow dialup and I can have a page loaded before I fall asleep.

I like it like it is... don't mess with success. It's clean and easy to read (the best format for colorblind people to see is yellow on black so this is good for them since the blue is dark enough to satisfy that need is some people). It's simple and professional like a slickdeal should be. And don't disagree with the lounge mom :D

This isn't home anymore...
Why not add the options of changing the themes, heck make this blue the default one if your heart desires... but it turned me off like watching the Michael Jackson case on TV...
The colors wouldn't slow down anyones load time at all... it will be the same speed. We just need some new stuff to make this site look more fancy.

Slick, how about going hawiian style? Post some coconuts all over the page, and then some lemonade in the bottom right corner... that will bring in some business...

You missed the point hun,
Hunter already answered that concisly. In order to allow individual users to select a color pattern The webmaster must write it in code- something I seriously doubt he would consider a good use of his time simply for the asthetics of the site. Have you looked at most of the web forums lately? this is phenominal compaired to 90% of what is done out there reguardless of you're love or hate for the color blue.
