Too many of these "deals" lately use $20 off coupons or things available by purchase off ebay. That kills the deal for some people (like me) who just want to buy something, who aren't afraid to price match, use 7 rebates per deal, etc., but simply don't have the desire to start buying stuff off of ebay to sweeten the deal.
Seesh, maybe I should post a "laser printer free at bestbuy" thread where I say "just use your gift certificate you got for christmas".

many people have 20 off coupons you can sign up for. we have a request thread where many people give away unused coupons, and even if you don't have either, you can buy a coupon and still save 15-18 dollars. if there was a way to get free bestbuy gc's or a way to buy one for 2 or 3 bucks, go for it :)

we prefer if people posted AC in threads that use a coupon. if you see a xxx at staples for 50 AR/AC/PM, you should be able to guess it'll require you having a staples coupon.

Does anyone know where the staples coupon come from? There are so many people selling the coupon in ebay.com. I subscribed to staples mailing list and in last 6 months I have only receive one coupon in the email..

it seems like you're talking about gift certificates, not coupons...coupons cost a buck, gift certificates tend to sell for a % of their value (a high % at that).

And yes, there is a difference...you're right about the gift certificate posts being useless but coupon deals are 'slickdeals' because everyone can get their hands on one at a cost/coupon value ratio that is favorable to a true SD.

in short, i agree, but i think you're using apples to talk about oranges.
